Bobby groans as he felt someone shake his body frantically. He aggressively sat up from his bed and glared at his friend who disturbed his sleep.
"seriously? 5 in the morning? Yena?" Bobby asked grumpily, face scrunched up.
"It's our first day in our new university Bobby, we can't be late." Yena said both hands resting on her hips.
"But our class starts at 9 am! And the university is literally a 10-minute walk from here!” Bobby whined and threw a tantrum like child would.
Yena just glared and sighed at the whining boy In front of her
“I woke you up because I know that if I wake you up an hour early than 9 am, I'm sure you lazy and slow ass would make us late.” Yena scolds.
“So, this is what it feels like to have a mother huh? I’ve always heard they nag at their children early in the morning.” Bobby teased trying to annoy Yena/Maybe this would get off her his back but instead, he earned a smack in the head.
"Come on get ready. Prepare your clothes, wash up, eat, have a little pep talk and calm yourself."
Bobby groans and dragged himself up to the bathroom while Yena smirks successfully.
"Zion will you be ok alone?"
Yena asked Zion while she's preparing their breakfast.
Zion quirks an eyebrow at Yena
"Yeah of course. I've always been alone every time you go to school.”' Zion paused before asking Yena, “How about you?”
Yena looked back at him and smiled. "I'm with Bobby don't worry"
" I don't trust him" Zion said jokingly and Yena just laughed.
"You really don't like him huh?" Yena asked amused.
"Well...remember when I first came in the orphanage?"
"Yeah? What about that?"
Yena answered as she continues working on the eggs.
"I mean...he was not that welcoming to me; he didn't acknowledge me. Him, and the other kids."
Yena laughs at Zion and his childish reason.
"Zion, that was years ago! Come on Bobby acknowledges you, now doesn’t he?"
"He still thinks my existence is a joke." The boy pouts pretending to be hurt and sad.
Yena stared at the boy for a while. The look in her eyes tells that she is annoyed.
Yena breathed deeply and closed her eyes to before she speaks.
"Zion, how many times do I have to tell you that he doesn't see you as a joke? Bobby may be playful at times but he doesn't mean it when he says things. You've been with us for years. It frustrates me every time you think you're a joke.”
Zion stared back with wide eyes before smiling awkwardly
“I know, I was just joking. I guess you didn’t catch that.” He rubs his nape with his hand.
Before Yena could answer, Bobby burst out of his room and saw Yena staring awkwardly at the table. Silenced enveloped the three people. It was definitely an awkward one.
"Yena hat are you doing? let's eat" Bobby grabbed Yena’s shoulder and sat her down in front of the table but Yena stood up and went back to the burned eggs at the stove.
“What the hell?” Yena shouted and Bobby laughed at the sight of the burned egg.
Walking towards their first class, Bobby is excited while Yena is nervous. She’s an awkward mess Infront of new people.
They entered their lecture room and luckily the professor has not yet arrived. That made Yena relaxed a little bit but the stares of some students bother her.
Bobby on the other hand is already making friends. Yena can hear the 'hey man's, 'sup where you guys form” question. At times like this she feels lucky to have Bobby as his friend. If Bobby wasn't here, she'll probably faint because of her nervousness of talking to new people.
The class started and Yena’s mind is wandering off somewhere....to someone, to Zion. She left the house without even saying sorry to him and he feels extremely guilty. Knowing Zion might be bored alone, her not giving Zion a 'ceremonial' pat in the head and pinching of cheeks before she leaves. She always felt like Zion was a little brother that she needs to handle with care.
"You ok? You look constipated. " Bobby whispered to Yena.
"Shut up Bobby.” Yena says through gritted teeth.
"I want to go home." Yena whispered as she buries his face in his palms.
"Someone is not having a great first day of uni~" Bobby sing songs.
"Finally, home!" Bobby shouts as he threw his shoes at the shoe rack.
Yena tsked at Bobby's action and picked up the boy's shoes putting in a more presentable way together with his own shoe.
"You guys are home early"
Zion said appearing from the kitchen. Bobby walked pass Zion and directly went to his bedroom while Yena nods as an answer to June and went to her bedroom with Zion trailing behind her.
"How's your first day of class?" Zion asked as he sat down on Yena’s bed.
"Not great."
Answered Yena who puts down her glasses at the side table before looking for comfortable clothes to change in.
Zion hummed as a response.
"It's just...." Yena paused before facing Zion
"I'm sorry." Yena turned to the boy beside her almost crying.
"I didn't mean to be a b***h earlier. I was just.... you know? Worked up from something I didn’t understand" Yena asked pouting and June smiled fondly at him.
"Yes, I know"
Yena moved beside Zion and opened his arms telling the boy to come closer for a hug. And Zion did. He lets Yena hug ang pat his head.
“forgive this sister of yours for being dramatic earlier.” She teased.
“But you are not my sister.” Zion said innocently and Yena rolled her eyes.
“Ok brat.” she said before pushing Zion away from her and they both laughed.
On the other side of the door, Bobby stood and listened to Yena speak and laugh. Yena was like a sibling to him and he was concerned at how Yena was acting the past few years. the girl has been bullied a lot of times because of her odd behavior. Children would always make fun of her, would always stay away from her and talk bad behind her. Now that they are already in university, he is more worried that Yena's behavior would bring more harm to her. He has no idea how people in this big City would treat people like Yena. Are they more cruel to people like her or are they more accepting? Shaking his head with worry, now he is more determined to help his friend get the treatment she needs
