Mattie grinned. “Thanks, baby. I promise I’ll finish as quickly as I can.”
“That won’t be very quick, then,” Cam said with a sly grin. Mattie responded with a chuckle and a suggestively raised eyebrow.
Cam liked the sound of Mattie’s snickers. He and Mattie were clearly in a romantic relationship in this reality, but it was nice to know they could still tease each other. When Cam made jokes around Brandon, either Brandon didn’t understand why it was supposed to be funny, or he got offended and sulked for days.
But Brandon wasn’t here. This was a Brandon-free reality, apparently, and Cam was determined to enjoy it. He pushed the thoughts of his boyfriend out of his head as he shamelessly ogled and bantered with Mattie as they straightened up the kitchen together.
