OLIVIA
"Sorry, Andrew. I'm sorry," I said as I tended to the wounds on his head.
Thank God, the bleeding was minimal.
That Liam is an animal.
He was going to hit me with the hard-cover bag in his hands but Andrew got in the way.
The officers restrained Liam after he hit Andrew.
He was going to have Liam locked in prison after all of that but I still stopped him.
Not because of anything. I was just not ready for the drama.
I needed to leave that place. I wasn't feeling okay being around Liam.
"What do they call that stuff?"
PTSD!! I thought that only existed in movies but Looks like I am having it myself.
"I wonder why you won't allow me just to get him arrested. He should suffer for what he did to you!"
"I'm sorry, Andrew. Just relax. I don't want anyone getting between us. My life with Liam is gone and over for good. Thanks to you," I said.
I kissed him on the cheeks.
He smiled.
That was the second time I would see him smile.
His smile was radiant and I felt like kissing him again.
"Are you going to tell me about that dream now?" he said.
He placed his hands on my thighs and raised his eyebrows.
"I think you already know what it is about," I said, placing my hands on his.
His hands were warm and for that moment, sitting close to him felt like what I needed every time.
"What is it?" He asked as she stared into my eyes.
"Nothing," I shrugged off.
I stylishly made my way to his hair gently with my hands and yay! It was as soft as I imagined it to be.
His curly hair lay comfortably in my hands as I browsed through them.
"Olivia, do you mind going on a date with me?" He spoke out suddenly.
I didn't know what to say.
It caught me by surprise.
I blushed.
I went mute for a few minutes.
While that happened, I had already spoken several sentences in my head.
"If you don't want to go out with me now, it's okay. I can wait till you are ready, " he said.
His voice made me jump out of my imagination.
I didn't even notice I had not replied to him.
"Yes, Andrew. I would like to go out on a date with you," I answered immediately.
"Are you sure you are good to go? I just cleaned your wounds," I asked him, packing up the used cotton wools.
"Don't worry. I am okay, as long as you are beside me," he said with a wide smile on his face.
***
I was in the bedroom changing into my date dress when I heard whispers from outside the room.
It seemed Andrew was on a call.
He spoke softly but I sensed anger in his tone.
"What could be wrong with him? Why was Andrew angry over the phone?"
I tried listening to his conversation on the phone as I adjusted my gown.
"What do you mean he scattered the whole place?"
"How could you have allowed that to happen?"
"Get me the man in charge on the phone right away. I need to speak to him."
Andrew's voice became louder this time around.
He was angry and this time I don't think he cared if I could hear him.
The conversation on the phone continued.
"What is the meaning of all this? Is that what you are paid to do?"
"To sit and watch? Someone just ransacked the offices and you or your men weren't there to stop him?"
"I don't want to hear another word. Just do what you are supposed to do before I get there."
He disconnected the call immediately.
After a short while, I stepped out in my silver short gown pretending not to have heard his conversation on the phone.
Andrew was a calm person. Whatever could have made him so frustrated this much has to be something far more serious than usual.
"Wow, you look stunning. Just be mine already," He teased.
I couldn't help but giggle at his sweet words.
Andrew has his special way of complimenting me. Most times, I feel he knows and understands me.
All I want is to be happy and enjoy peace of mind.
I know Andrew would give me all of that and more.
I didn't talk to him about what I heard on the phone and he didn't say a word either but I wished he did.
We drove off to Beckley's restaurant. One of the most luxurious restaurants in the city.
Their adverts were all over the city billboards and I had always wanted to be there but the cost of things there chased me away.
This time, money wasn't the problem.
I was excited to be having a date, and eating at my dream restaurant.
Andrew was a total gentleman.
He treated me like a queen, following me close right from where we entered the restaurant to when we sat at our reserved table.
I noticed how they attended to us and how each of the officials came to our table to greet Andrew.
Some of them were ladies who reached out for a quick hug. Others were men who extended their arms for a handshake.
It was indeed a VVIP treatment and I also felt respected as he introduced me to everyone who came by the table.
"This is my lady, Olivia," he would say.
"Hmm, you seem kind of popular here. Mr. Huxley here and there. So is this where you bring them all?" I winked at him.
He smirked. "Stop it, Olivia. It's none of that. I'm a businessman. I hold some of my private business meetings here. Nothing more, nothing less."
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes. Now tell me, Olivia, do you like flowers?" He said, brightening his face with a smile so contagious.
I smiled back and nodded my head in response.
Before I knew it, I saw one of the male attendees approach me with a bouquet of roses in his hands and a small blue paper note attached to it.
It read:
I am in love with you and I want you to be mine.
Andrew.
My cheeks became red.
"Oh my God, did he just ask me out?"
The voice in my head screamed in excitement.
