Elara The cool wind brushed against my bare shoulders as I walked silently beside Xavier, away from the glowing lights of the Moonlight Party. We didn’t speak much. Something dark lingered in the air—something that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand. We moved through the Silvermoon grounds, under ancient trees heavy with silver leaves that shimmered in the moonlight. I could feel eyes watching us, hidden behind the trunks, in the shadows. “I don’t like this,” I whispered. “Something’s… wrong.” “I know,” Xavier replied, his voice low and serious. “Stay close to me.” We were heading toward the old grove behind the pack houses—a quiet place I used to go to as a child when I wanted to be alone. It was strange returning there now, with Xavier beside me, both of us alert and tense
