EIGHTEEN It’s only a little after 6 am. The noise of heavy clanging wakens me and then my cell door is opened, and I’m given a bread roll and sausage with a cup of tea. The prison officer tells me I will be taken to court at 8 am and I’ll be able to speak with my lawyer there. I’m nauseous and don’t feel able to eat or drink. I sit staring at the food, unable to move and losing track of time. “Let’s go Fraser, it’s time for court.” Two police officers enter my cell and I’m handcuffed to one and taken to a police vehicle where I’m driven the short distance to court. When I arrive, I’m taken to a room where Mr Giannisi is waiting for me.
