Chapter 1
I groan and wake up to the alarm on my bedside table. I yawn and stretch as I turn it off. “Wake up baby, you don't wanna be late on your first day” a voice yells from downstairs. That's my mom Kate and like she said today's my first day in senior year. Eastwood High is about 10 minutes drive from here. I race to my closet searching for what to wear. I pick a black jean, white tank top and hoodie with a black converse. I'm not a fashion freak. I go to the bathroom, have my bath and dress up. I pack my hair into a messy ponytail. I jog downstairs to meet my mom in the kitchen. “Good morning, mom” I say, “morning sweetie, what took you so long” “she's probably getting dressed up for someone” Tyler says and winks. I go round the table and smack his head. “ Ow, that hurts” he says and I smirk. That's my brother Tyler, he goes to a football academy quite far from home, so he comes back every two weeks to catch up with us. I love him but he's very annoying. I grab a bowl and pour some cereal. I finish and drop the bowl in the washer. I check my phone to see it's 7:10 am and I run upstairs to grab my car keys. I kiss my mom and Tyler goodbye. I walk into the garage to see my baby there. It's a black convertible Audi 8 car. I throw my bag in and drive off. The car was given to me as a birthday gift from my dad and I love it. Speaking about dad, he hasn't been at home since last week. He has this job that keeps him away. I don't know what kind of job he does, cause every time I ask, I only get “don't worry honey, it's a good job” and I don't worry cause we live comfortably in a two-storey house.

I park my car in the parking lot and look up. I gaze at the large building of Eastwood High. If there's anything you need to know about highschool, is to stay in your own lane. News spread fast like wild fire. So to avoid getting into the limelight, I do what I know how to do best, keep my head down and by that I mean avoid drama and getting noticed. Another thing is to avoid the popular kids and wannabe’s. Gosh, they irritate me. I hear a high pitched squeal and I look up to see my best friend Alysa running towards me. Oh boy. We hug each other and she nearly squeezes the breath out of me. “Oh my God, I've missed you. It's been a while” she says. “Me too” I say and she hugs me again. “ You look gorgeous” I tell her, though she always does, I mean she's way better looking than me that's why Jordan, a member of the football team can't keep his eyes off her. “Not as gorgeous as you are” Alysa says. “As if” I retort, “seriously D, you look amazing, you shouldn't look down on yourself” “come on” I say as I grab her hand and walk through the hallways. We go to the the principal's office to get our schedule and I see that I have chemistry for period, someone kill me. We go to our lockers since we're locker neighbours. I get my chemistry textbook and close my locker. “Erm… Jordan's having a party over the weekend at his house and he invited me, so I was wondering if you could come” she says. “Nah, you know I don't fancy all these party stuff. Besides you're the one who got invited not me” I say, “please” “I can't, can we end it here”. The bell rings and I couldn't be more grateful. “See ya later” I say and get to class. I take my usual seat in the middle, close to the window cause I love the view and I get ready learn.
