Alex limped away from the the safe house, his heart heavy with anger and hurt. Jackson followed him right after. “Alex, wait! , let's talk about this,” Jackson called out. Alex stopped but didn't turn around, "What's there to talk about, Jackson? You're just like the others." "Alex, please listen. I know you're upset, but leaving the gang isn't the answer," Jackson said, catching up to him. Alex spun around, his eyes blazing. "You don't get it, Jackson. You never have. You're just a mindless drone, following Alex's orders without question." Jackson's expression turned defensive. "That's not fair, Alex. I'm trying to help you." "Help me? You're the one who told Alex about Sunshine, aren't you?" Alex accused, his voice low and even. Jackson hesitated, then nodded. "I was trying to protect the gang, Alex I didn't mean to hurt you." Alex's eyes widened in shock. "Protect the gang? By betraying me? You're no better than Reed." Jackson took a step back, his face pale. "Jake, please understand—" But Alex cut him off, his voice cold. "I understand perfectly, Jackson. You're just another traitor in a long line of traitors. I'm done with the gang, and I'm done with you. Here I was thinking I've found a friend, a brother but I was mistaken after all." With that, Alex turned and walked away, leaving Jackson standing alone in the darkness. He was confused on where to go, didn't want to go back to Sunshine, not while he was looking like this. So he just wondered off, anywhere the wind took him, as he reminisce on everything, the car at the garage, and his parents death.
