Chapter 1. The shattered Reflection.
Alex vega's world shattered like the shards of glass that pierced his skin. He was only thirteen years old when his life changed forever. The memory of that fateful night still haunted him, etched in his mind like a scar.
Alex's Parents, esteemed philanthropists, had been hosting a charity gala at their opulent mansion. The evening was filled with laughter and champagne toasts from the prestigious guests, everyone was having fun except Alex. He didn't wanted to be here, he wanted going to his bestfriend's house where could be a child again but his parents refused, saying...
“We need here with us to understand how this charity gala works, because very soon you will be running everything along side us."
For as long as he can remember, he has been attending this charity gala with his parents and so many guests that he's yet to get familiar with. His parents never for once treated him like the kid that he is, instead they made him understand how things works, treated him like as an adult, he wasn't pampered like every other child, wasn't given toys. As soon as he began to walk and talk a little, he was officially an adult.
But aside all this stiffness and serious lifestyle of Alex, he managed to have a friend which is the exact opposite from him, and his name is Jasper, Jasper's parents owns a restaurant and they love and pamper him so much. Alex and Jasper met in an elementary school, nobody would talk to Alex because of how his parents dressed him up and made him stand out. He was lonely the first one week but then Jasper approached him and they became best friends ever since then.
This evening, Alex had enough and was determined that they must let him go today. “what harm will it cause for them to just allow me be a kid? I'm definitely going to Jasper's house weather they like it or not." He said to himself.
Trying his luck one last time, he approached his mum talking to her high class friends, she wasn't giving him listening ears so he went to his dad, but his dad told him off. In a fit of rage, Alex stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him so loud that it got the attention of everyone, his parents immediately ran after him, calling out his name. But he didn't stop. He kept running down the sidewalk, his feet pounding the pavement.
As his parents chased after him, a car suddenly came out of nowhere, speeding around the corner. They didn't have time to catch their breath nor react to the car, when it came, struck them with a loud thud, sending them flying into the pavement.
Alex heard the screeching tires and the sickening crunch of metal on flesh. He spun around, his heart racing, and saw his parents lying motionless on the ground. The sound of the screeching tires also caught the attention of most of the guest, which ran out to see what the commotion was all about. The car sped away into the night but Alex was able to glance through the plait number with his teary eyes. Alex was extremely terrified.
Panicked, Alex rushed into his his parents' side, calling out for them to wake up but they didn't even move a muscle. Looking around him, the guest were all whispering amongst themselves. Alex cried at the top of his voice for help, pleading that someone should please call 911, but for some reason, everyone was reluctant to and just watched everything.
Raising his parents up with his little hands, Alex clothes and hands were stained in blood. Heart racing, breath shaking, feet trembling. He froze, unsure of what to do next.
The Darkness of the night seemed to close in around him, and he felt like it was utterly alone in the world.
