Chapter 2. Alone and Adrift.

Days blurred together as Alex struggled to come in terms with the loss of this parents. He couldn't shake the image of their lifeless bodies on The pavement. The sound of screeching tires and shattering glass hunted his every walking movement.

With No home to return to, he found himself on the streets, forced to fend for himself. He rummaged through the trash cans for food, and slept in abandoned alleys or parks. Never in his wildest dreams would he imagined that he would strive to survive like this, when his perents were wealthy, he had everything he could eat at his fingertips, he had the most comfortable bed and spacious room ever, but all that are just memories now. His once bright and curious eyes now seemd dull and lifeless, a reflection of a despair that had consumed him.

Remembering that he has a friend, Alex desperately went to him for help but unfortunately, he was met with rejection. Jasper's parents had warned him to stay away from Alex, fearing his troubled past would rub off on their own son. The rejection cut deep that he felt like he had lost his last lifeline.

As the weeks turned into months, Alex's appearance began to change. His once clean clothes were now tattered and stained, his hair matted and unkept. He looked like just another forgotten soul, lost in the sea of homelessness.

One rainy night, Alex huddled in a damp alleyway, trying to escape the downpour. He wrapped his arms around his knees, rocking back and forth, trying to comfort himself. Tears streamed down his face as he whispered his parents' names, feeling like he'd never find his place in the world again.

Just as he thought things couldn't get worse, a strong gust of wind blew through the alley, extinguishing the faint light from a nearby streetlamp. Alex was plunged into darkness, surrounded by the stench of rotting garbage and his own despair. He felt like he was drowning in a sea of hopelessness, with no lifeline in sight.
