Beneath The Bad.

Chapter 3. Desperation and Danger.

Alex's hunger became so unbearable, he had gone days without eating. His stomach growled every second. In a moment of desperation and willingness he wandered around looking for what he could eat. Walking towards a warehouse which looked abandoned to him, he sighted a backpack.

"What could be inside, food, money, whatever it is I'm getting it" . He said to himself.

With determination he ran towards the backpack and opened it, and what he saw made his jaw drop.

It was a Glock 19, a hand gun that was fully loaded, trembling, he dropped it and freaked out. Out of nowhere he got a heavy punch to his face, and he blacked out.

Waking up, he found himself tied to a chair, his wrist and ankle were bound by thick ropes, leaving him helpless and vulnerable. His face bruised up and his shirt stained with blood. Slightly opening his eyes he found himself in a big empty wearhouse with so many big guys and guns. Frightened, he pretended like he isn't awake yet, but unknowingly to him, he has already been noticed.

Hearing footsteps approaching him, Alex's heart began to race. “Time to teach you a lesson kid, stealing from us isn't something we take lightly. After I'm done with you, you're gonna wish you never crossed path with us”. This was kia, the gangs' leader second in command.

A heavy punch landed on Alex's stomach forcing the air out of his lungs. Alex's head snapped back as kia's fist connected with his jaw. He felt a surge of pain as his teeth rattle and his mouth filled with the metallic taste of blood.

Kia stepped forward, his eyes glinting with cruelty. “You think you can steal from us and get away with it?” he sneered, before delivering a vicious kick into Alex's ribs.

Alex's body jerked violently, his mind reeling from the onslaught. He tried to raise his hands to defend himself, but the rope held fast.

Kia grabs Alex's hair, yanking his head back. “look at me kid”, he snarled, before landing a series of rapid-fire punches to Alex's face.

The pain was excruciating, but it was nothing compared to the fear that gripped Alex's heart as he wondered if he'd ever see the light of day again.

So many thoughts were going through his head at that time, his parents death and how they'll feel if they saw him like this. Soon his thoughts became foggy as the blows continued, his consciousness threatening to slip away, leaving him trapped in a dark abyss of helplessness.

His vision blurred, his eyes swelling shut. “why do you want to steal from us? were you sent? answer me boy!!”. Kia asked angrily. With a faint and tired voice, Alex replied, “N-no one sent m-me, I was starving, I-I didn't mean to steal from you, I'm s-sorry". Kia didn't believe him and wanted throwing more punches to him. Fortunately for Alex, there was a firm voice which echoed from everywhere, “That's enough kia”.

Alex heard another footsteps approach him, opening his already swollen eyes Alex saw him. A huge figure with a scarred face and a cold gaze. His name was Reed, the Gangs' leader.

“Cut him loose”, Reed said, as kia fetched him a chair to sit. “You might be wondering why you're still alive, don't worry, I'll tell you why, I'm letting you live because I see potential in you boy, you've got balls and I like that, so here's the deal, I'm willing to make you one of us, welcome you to the Noctis brotherhood, give you a family, shapen you, make you hard to the core, or you can choose to go back to the streets”.

Being in that difficult situation, Alex's mind battered in confusion, “I have nothing for me in the streets, but here I can be safe, I'll have shelter and food” He thought. Alex stopped up broken and battered, he knew his life was about to take a dark and dangerous turn, he was now part of the Noctis brotherhood. Without hesitation, he agreed. With a devious smile on his face, Reed welcomed Alex. “Boys meet our newest member", everyone made some noise and they welcomed him.

Alex smiled feeling a sense of belonging he hasn't felt in months. But deep down, he knew he had just made a deal with the devil himself.
