Chapter 10

Jasmine's POV

The party is in full swing. The Alpha and Luna have introduced me to many of the visiting Lunas. They have all complimented me on my work and have asked that Luna Sarah passes them the info for my company once I have set it up. I wasn't sure agreeing to plan this party was a good idea but I am glad I went ahead with it as I'm making many connections that could bring in a lot of business for me in the future. After many drinks and dancing, it is time to sit down. I was hoping to be sat at a table in the back so I could stay far away from Joshua but the Luna insisted that I sit at the top table with the family and high ranks. I tried to protest but she wasn't taking no for an answer. Eventually, I gave in and fortunately the Luna was kind enough to seat me between Jade and Naomi.

Alpha Joe stands up and the entire rooms descends in to silence.

"Good evening everyone. I know speeches can be long and boring so I'm going to keep this short and sweet" He looks around the crowd smiling at everyone before continuing "Thank you all for coming tonight and celebrating with us. It has been a wonderful 25 years of happy marriage with my beautiful mate Sarah and I can only hope that we have another 25 years of happiness and love"

Lots of awes can be heard around the room while the Alpha and Luna gaze at each other in adoration. I elbow Naomi in the ribs as I catch her making fake gagging noises. Just I'm about to scald her I am interrupted by the Luna standing up and speaking.

"I would just like to take a moment to thank Jasmine Jones for planning this spectacular evening. She has worked hard to make sure tonight is perfect and she is now a honoury member of our family and like a second daughter to me" Luna walks over to me and puts her hand on my shoulder before continuing "Jasmine maybe human but she has come to mean a lot to me and Alpha Joe over recent weeks and I would like to ask that everyone here shows the same respect they show the Alpha family"

I am moved to tears and I turn to hug the Luna. Just as I do, I notice Mia is looking at me with murderous intent. Guessing she isn't going to be my biggest fan any time soon.

The Luna sits back down and omegas come out serving the food. It's a five course meal, boy werewolves sure can eat a lot.

Once everyone is finished eating, the omegas come and clear the plates away. People all around start getting up, mingling with others and enjoying themselves. I stay sat at the table for a little while chatting with the girls. Jade is feeling down because her mate isn't in attendance, she really had her heart set on meeting him tonight.

Just as we decide to get up and head to the bar, Joshua and Mia walk over to us.

"Good evening ladies" He smiles at us all before turning to Naomi "I'm happy to see you sis, I've really missed you"

"Cool story bro" she snorts back at him. s**t this isn't good and I don't want to hang around to witness the drama.

"I'm just going to head to the bathroom guys, won't be long" I excuse myself and head towards the bathroom. Thank the goddess that Luna Sarah gave me a tour or I would have gotten lost, the house is absolutely huge.

Just as I'm washing my hands the door opens and in strolls Mia.

"Hi Mia are you enjoying the party?" I ask her trying to make small talk, there is no reason we can't be civil with each other.

She looks me up and down in disgust before leaning in to my ear "listen here you pathetic little human, you may have fooled the Alpha and Luna but you don't fool me. Joshua has told me about your creepy little obsession with him" I look at her in disbelief, what exactly has been saying about me?

"He is mine and you need to back off. Stop trying to worm your way in to his life, it would be so easy for me to kill someone as weak as you" she growls out at me.

"I don't know what..."

I'm cut off by Naomi dragging Mia out of the bathroom and warning her to stay away from me.

"Naomi" comes a viscious growl from down the hallway as Joshua marches towards us "Get your hands off my mate and show her some damn respect, she is your Luna"

Naomi starts laughing like a maniac "She is not my Luna yet"  she states, putting the emphasis on the word yet "If it wasn't for the fact that my mate is your Beta, I would reject you both as my Alpha and Luna and leave the pack" she seethes at him.

He flinches back and you can see the hurt on his face.

"Naomi" Luna Sarah gasps, great more witnesses to this complete s**t show "you take that back right this moment. Why would you say such things?"

"I just caught Mia here threatening to kill Jasmine" Naomi spits out in Mia's direction.

"She is trying to steal what is mine, she needs to learn that Joshua could never love a pathetic human and she needs to stop trying to get him in to her bed" and with that I burst in to tears and make a run for the exit with Jade, Naomi and Sean chasing after me. When I get outside I stop and look around. How the f**k am I supposed to get home? I was supposed to be spending the night here and travelling home with the girls tomorrow.

I'm brought out of my thoughts when two sets of arms wrap around me.

"It's ok baby girl, Sean is going to take us all back to the apartment" and with that they guide me in to Sean's car.
