I was staring at Jessica when she asked me the question because I knew that it was going to come to that if she ever came to know what we sacrificed to make sure that she was safe at the Ashmoon Pack. Seeing the way she was so terrified, I could not help but believe that she had faced a number of threats to her life if not for the necklace that we were able to get that would protect her from Isabel's spell.
I hated seeing her like that, and that was the reason I was very grateful when Murphy said he did not want a word of it to be mentioned to her because I knew he was doing the best thing. However, Jessica always had her way into my head, and I just did not know why I had to tell her about it when I should have kept it secret and insisted that I was not going to say it.
