Beep!
Beep!!
Beep!!!
Hours had passed since Daven had been rushed to the hospital and he lay on the bed, looking so lifeless. Only the sound of the machines connected to his body indicated that he was still alive.
A few minutes later, Daven’s fingers moved and his eyes opened slowly. He was met with the white walls and ceiling of his noisy hospital room.
With other patients around and their voices flowing into his head, he felt like his head was about to explode.
Not only that, the memories of him getting hit by Gerald and how his girlfriend cheated on him, came rushing in.
Daven closed his eyes, so as to tone down the headache he was feeling but it got even worse.
“Oh no…” He gasped, breathing heavily as he recalled his dad had been rushed to the hospital. Quickly, he shot up the bed, ready to go to his father but in an instant, his body fell back on the bed.
The IV drip in his hand also twisted and the machines started to beep louder as Daven went into shock
However, inside him, another machine was beeping, while he was shaking on the bed.
[Welcome, Daven King, this is the Rich Medical System. You have been given a new life.]
With his eyes closed, Daven could still see things. It was like a new door had been opened in his mind and he witnessed several intricate webs being merged together and several information being downloaded at the same time.
[You have been bestowed the knowledge of modern medicine. You can heal people with your skilled hands and increased knowledge. And it is up to you to unlock more skills and knowledge.]
At the same time, with each information being downloaded, there were also locks on them, with only a few pieces of knowledge unlocked.
After the information had been registered in his mind, the system displayed a new screen.

Immediately those words were said, the System went blank and Daven’s eyes snapped open. He was drenched in sweat, his heart racing with a confused gaze.
“Brother, are you okay? You were shaking so terribly.” Arya’s worried voice flowed into his ears. Daven looked at his sister, still confused and at the same time, he saw a doctor rushing in.
“Don’t worry, the doctor is here.” Arya quickly stepped back.
The doctor went ahead to take his hand, wanting to check Daven’s stats but as soon as they made contact, Daven’s eyes flashed a bit.
In his mind, the System woke up again.

“What the hell…” Daven let out in surprise and immediately, he flung the doctor’s hands away.
He sat upright, in shock as he watched his surrounding like a hawk.
“Brother, what is going on?” Arya looked at him, in confusion.
On the other hand, the doctor tried to touch Daven again but he avoided the doctor’s touch so cleanly.
“You…” Daven pointed at him. “Are you diabetic?”
Immediately, the doctor’s gaze changed, not expecting Daven to know that.
“Do you know me? How do you know that?” He frowned.
“Oh s**t!” Daven held onto his bandaged head and he felt like he had stepped into a new dimension which he wasn't supposed to get into.
All he did was to accept a System’s request and now he was thrown into jeopardy.
“Arya, let’s go home.” Swiftly, he dragged the IV needle out of his hand. “Have you paid the bills?”
“Yes…” Arya stuttered.
“Mr. Daven, you can’t leave the hospital just yet. You are still weak–”
“I am fine!” Daven thundered, getting off the hospital bed. He wasn't as weak as before. He was suddenly energized like he had not been hit by a car at all.
Still in his hospital clothes, he rushed past the doctor, dashing out of the hospital.
Arya ran after her brother, complaining and asking why he would leave the hospital that way. He still had cuts and bruises all over but he felt no pain however to Arya, he was too pale and should be in pain, so he shouldn't be walking around.
“Let’s go home.” Daven hailed a cab and ordered his sister into the cab.
“Where is father? Is he still at the hospital?” He asked.
“He is back home. I didn't tell him about your accident though…”
“You did well…” Daven nodded. However, he was worried as he bit down on his lips, wondering what was going on in his life.
He had a machine…a system inside him? How was that possible? Not only that, he could diagnose a person of an ailment. Now, he was even scared to touch anyone so he wouldn't see a diagnosis.
But the person he wanted to touch the most was his sick father.
“If I can help my father with this. I will surely accept this system...” He muttered.
A few minutes passed and they arrived in the shabby building where they lived. He rushed straight into his father’s bedroom and he saw that his father was fast asleep.
Sitting by his bedside, he quickly touched his father, “Please…show me what is wrong with him.”
[The medical diagnosis could not be processed, Daven King. You do not have enough system points.]
