Chapter Twenty-Nine Max I snuck back into the bedroom, put on my clothes, and sat on the back porch with a cup of coffee and the book. The sun was just coming up, but there wasn’t enough light to read, so I found the light switch for the porch in the kitchen and switched it on. “Why would Jude have this book?” I shook my head back and forth slowly, then opened it. From what I understood, a priest was a priest for life. It was kinda like joining the mafia, or a drug cartel. Once you were in, you were always in.
