Chapter 10 I'm sorry

Eliza got up early the next morning and prepared for the trip back to New York. It had been over 4 years since she last saw any of the kids and she was excited by just the thought of seeing them again. By the corner of the room stood a pouting Royal who was holding a bear so tight that Eliza feared that the bear's head would come off.

"But you promised that you'll play with me today" Royal said in mist of his angry pout.

Eliza. looked at her son who was starting to look like the man she had tried to forget for over four years.

"Baby, this is important. A friend of mummy's got arrested so we have to go and help" Eliza got on her knees and tried to explain to her son but he just wasn't buying it, he even refused to look at her no matter how she turned his face to her.

"Mummy doesn't have any friends that are not here already, she just don't want to play with me". Hearing Royal's words, Eliza became dumbstruck.

That was what he thought.

Eliza placed both her hands by his side and forced him to look at her

"I promised you yesterday that I would play with you, but I can't leave my friend in jail for a crime that isn't even worth it" She paused for a moment and looked at her son who was finally paying attention to what she was saying.

"Who says that I won't fulfill my promise anyways. By the time we get to New York, there would still be more than enough time for us to play together "

Royal dimmed eyes suddenly lit up light a Christmas light.

" You'll still play with me? "He asked in a tiny voice as if still in doubt

Eliza knew she had crossed another hurdle, so she answered with a smile.

" Of course baby, and not only me, you'll have more friends to play with you".

Royal smiled and wrapped his arms around her

" I love you mummy ". Eliza smiles back and put her arms around him as she stood up leaving his feet dangling on the air

" I love you too Roy. Now it's time for you to pack ". She put him down and he ran with his tiny legs all the way to his room to pack his things .

Eliza sat on the taxi while looking out side the window. They had arrived at New York just an hour ago and they were now riding to her previous house. She looked outside for a while before looking back at the sleeping Royal. He had fell asleep the moment they entered a taxi.

Eliza looked away from her son and closed her eyes. She had no idea what to tell the troupe, her family. She had left without thinking and now she had to face them again.

Taking a deep breath, Eliza let herself succumb to the invitation of sleep, she would need her rest before she finally come face to face with them.

"Miss we have arrived " The taxi driver informed after about half an hour.

Eliza opened her eyes and scanned her surroundings, she was ready back.

"Thank you" She paid the driver and carried her son fork the car.

Looking back at the building, her body stiffened and she became nervous, What would she say?

Royal had been awake for a while, and when he felt his mother's body become stiff.

"What is it mummy?" He asked as he raised his beautiful blue eyes to look at her

Eliza had no idea that Royal was awake

"Em.. I'm just getting ready" She replied with a tight smile, one that Royal easily saw pass.

He asked to be put down and Eliza placed him on the ground. What he did next surprised her. He held her hand in his and smiled

"Let's go in?"

Eliza gave him a genuine smile and walked with him into the. house.

Inside the house, everyone was worried. They were thinking about how to get Jasmine out of jail.

"I don't know what else to do" Alisa ran her hands through her brown wavy hair frustratedly. They had tried everything they could to get Jasmine out of prison but nothing was working.

" Maybe we should go and beg the groom again " Kiara suggested with her eyes closed. She knew that if she opened her eyes, she would be met with everyone questioning looks.

"I can't believe you actually suggested that. Don't you remember what he said to you guys the last time, huh? ". Fiona shouted at the girl.

"I know.. "Kiara opened her eyes, ".. but he's the only one that can redraw this case" She pointed out which got everyone silent.

Lana was just about to speak, when the door knocked. Everyone looked at each other silently asking if they were expecting someone

Alisa stood up bravely abs went to the door, but before she opened it she asked

" Who is it? " A small voice answered,

" it's me ". Because of how cute the voice sounded, Alisa opened the door but was met with the shock of her life

"Wh.. what are you doing here?" She began to back up as Eliza proceeded into the house.

"What the f**k!"

"No way in hell"

"What!"

Everyone mouths went open when they saw their visitor. Eliza had expected the reaction so she wasn't to moved by their look.

Lana couldn't take the suspense any longer, she stood up and went towards Eliza

"What are you doing here?" She asked the question which was running through everyone minds with anger clearly visible in her eyes.

"Guys let me explain what.."

"What the f**k do you want to explain, huh? What is there to explain" Danielle stood up to face the lady.

A small voice suddenly spoke up, spoiling the angry mood.

" Let my mummy explain ". Everyone turned to face the voice and was surprised when they saw a small little boy beside Eliza. They had not noticed him when he came in, because all eyes where on Eliza.

Royal blinked his beautiful blue eyes, everyone was looking at him. Did he say anything wrong?

But on the contrary, everyone eyes where on him because he was just too cute in his blue jumper and white base ball cap he wore which made him stand out.

Still looking at him, Danielle just had to ask

"Who is this?"

Eliza felt the previous hot atmosphere had greatly reduces after Royal spoke up. She mentally patted herself.

"This is Royal" She paused and scanned the faces which was turned to her again when she spoke

"My son".

Her words earned a gasp from the boys which had been quiet since Eliza came in, silently thinking of ways to make her regret what she did.

"What?"

"If you'll just let me explain.." This time, no one was against an explanation, this needed to be cleared up.

"So tell us Eliza, what happened" Dion spoke up for the first time since Eliza walked in.
