1216 Words
4 years later "Mummy mummy, I'm coming to find you" A little voice ran around the house until he reached his mother's bedroom. Scanning around, the little one burst open the door revealing a stunning young lady sitting on the bed, as if waiting for him to arrive Eliza held her hands in front of her chest and gave her little boy a scared look "No.. no" She screamed in pretend terror running around the room, making the cute little thing giggle as he chased her around When he finally caught up to her, Eliza grabbed the little cutie and began to tickle him "Mum.. mummy.. le.. let.. me go" Royal said in mist of laughter. Both mother and son then laid in bed and just laughed. "This is the last game Royal, it's time for you to go to bed" Eliza said getting up from the bed. Royal pouted making the cute boy look even cuter "Can I play one more game?" He asked his mother. Any body at all would have agreed to what tht little boy wanted, everybody but his mother. In the beginning she had always agreed to whatever he wanted, but as time went on, she started to grow immune to it. "That's what you said the last time Roy. It's your bed time" When Royal heard what his mother said, his beautiful shiny blue eyes went dim. He just wanted to keep playing. Eliza saw that her baby was about to cry, so she got back on the bed and hugged him close to her "Roy how about this, You go to sleep now, and tomorrow we'll play for as long as you want, okay?" Eliza coated the little one. The previously dimmed eyes of Royal became sparkling again "You'll play with me again tomorrow?" He asked a bit skeptical and Eliza couldn't blame him. Ever since he was old enough to walk, she had been taking lots of jobs so they would be able to survive, and because of that, she didn't have time. to play with him. Presently, she was working at a restaurant but even that job was very demanding. She had to go to work as early as 7 and she couldn't leave till 9, the worst part being that she wasn't allowed to bring her child. The young kid had to be at home with his nanny almost all the time. She was only home today because her boss at the restaurant she was working at was celebrating her brother's birthday, and decided to give everyone a day off. But Eliza had to do all she can to give her son a good life. When she was little, all her parents ever wanted was money and a son, nothing more. To them she was a mistake. That feeling, was something she never wanted her son to feel, even if it meant lying to him about somethings. "Yes, hon" Royal still couldn't believe it. He held out his pinky finger "Promise?" He asked in his cute little voice. Eliza looked at his finger, and then his face filled with expectation and smiled "Promise" She brought out her own finger and linked it with his. "Mummy, you can't fail your promise, okay?" Royal said as he kissed his mother's finger before he yawned. Eliza copied her son's actions and kissed his little finger. "Now go to sleep, you look really tired" As if on cue, Royal yawned again. " Goodnight mummy" " Goodnight my darling" Few minutes later, Royal was sleeping. Eliza stared at her little one as he slept. He was starting to look more and more like his father. The more she stared at him, the more those memories she had buried deep inside began to resurrect. 4 years ago, after the call from her mother, she knew she couldn't stay there anymore. Her parents were terrible people, and they always did what they said they would do. She couldn't bring herself to accept an arranged marriage with someone just because she was pregnant for his child. That was basically everything she stood against. Eliza also couldn't bring herself to tell the other kids, What would they think of her. They were supposed to go for a gig the next day, but she pretended like she was I'll, and they didnt see anything to it, since she had been sick for the past few days, She convinced them to go without her and they did. When she confirmed they were gone, she went to her room to pick up her already packed bags. She couldn't leave without saying goodbye, so she wrote them a letter saying she was leaving for a family emergency and sbe wouldn't be coming back soon. After she was sure they would see it, She did the one thing she was good at apart from singing, she ran away, again. To a place she was sure nobody would find her, and nobody has. Since then it had been four years. Eliza stared at her baby's chubby cheeks. He was her strength. When she had first arrived, she didn't know where to go, or what to do, she was stranded. But anytime she touched her belly, it was like her baby was giving her strength to continue and up till now, he was still giving her. strength. Eliza didn't even realize that she was crying until a drop of tear landed on her son's cheeks. Wiping the tear with her hand, she kissed his cheek "I love you Royal" She murmured, and got off the bed. Eliza took her phone, and left the room as quietly as possible to avoid waking up the sleeping little cutie on the bed. Her son was really sharp. As young as he was, his ears had sharpened to the point that he would wake up at the slightest sound. Eliza stood on the balcony of her apartment as she stared at her phone. Although she left the troupe, they continued on without her, raiding weddings that either the bride or groom or both, had skeletons in their closet. "What" Eliza screamed unintentionally as she saw the news headline 'Jasmine Turner, the governor's daughter has been arrested' Eliza couldn't believe her eyes, Jasmine was. arrested? She read on 'The young lady was caught during on of their wedding escapades, two days ago and would be sent for trial The governor has also been suspected for being part of this troupe that has caused havoc to alot of elite's marriages' Eliza round eyes went even rounder. Jasmine was the governor's daughter. His enemies where using what happened to Jasmine as a leverage against him. If this continued, he would be asked to step down from his position. Eliza could feel her feet failing her so she sat down on the chair by the balcony. Jasmine was arrested! The news was still too shocking for her to digest. She couldn't just leave her alone now, she had to go back. She went online to buy plane tickets back to New York City. With that motion set in mind, Eliza went back to her room and saw her boy still sleeping. With a smile, she hopped on the bed and hugged him. Tomorrow was going to be a long day
