Unstoppable

Six years Later ~ MIRA “Stop running around, Jamie!” I screamed out my lungs trying to stop my son from running around like he always does. For a kid his age, he had quite the strength, like the strength of an alpha. Fast, unstoppable and powerful… I chased him around until I finally caught up to him. His little legs got weak so he tripped right in front of me and I picked him up. “Come on, you'll be late for school if you continue this way” I said calmly.. I picked him up, heading towards the door when I heard my mobile phone ring. “Gwen, please help me with the phone” I yelled, heading outside towards my car. Managing to tame Jamie was a miracle, he was just too hard to handle and I cannot blame him for it. I have the alpha blood running through my veins as my son. I just didn't know if his father was also an alpha. I wasn't too sure, because if he did, he would've found us already.. As I stepped into my car, Gwen arrived with my mobile phone and the schedule for today. “Luna, the Red-Claw sent an email regarding the arsenal you promised” Gwen said. “Okay, what did they say next?” I asked her. “Nothing much, just about the weapons. And their Alpha will come visiting the pack soon” she explained, entering the car as I drove off. I had to drop my son at school and head to the office. My father died two years ago and everything was handed over to me as the Luna of the pack. I had to take on the responsibility of the pack's welfare from then on. I've always wanted to rule a pack as Luna and have a complete family but it was all ripped off from me by Simon. I'd never forgive him for it. Jamie was as a result of my one nightstand with Finn, the strange man from that night. If it wasn't for my pregnancy, I would've been forced to marry that old hag alpha of the Red-Claw pack. What did he want this time? I thought to myself as I drove through the highway. He wanted to come visit and inspect my pack so he could mock us for not accepting his marriage proposal? Very funny and distasteful.. We finally reached Jamie's school and I dropped him off. I reached the company about twenty minutes later and I headed to my office. “Luna, I have some information on Alpha Simon,” Gwen announced as soon as we stepped into my office. I plopped down on my seat and turned on the computer. “What is it?” I asked. “He will be getting married next week and they sent an invite. According to my source, he never married his mistress, he dumped her and he's currently marrying the daughter of Alpha Parker of Greenville pack” she explains. That was typical of Simon. He'd do anything to climb the ladder of the elites. He hasn't changed in all these years. Clinging from one woman to another. Thank goodness I left him. “Anything else?” “Will you attend the wedding or not? You know he hasn't found out your identity.. Besides, he's been trying to have a meeting with you in order to get an explanation on why you withdrew from his company's investments” “I told you already, Gwen. Send them a message, we stopped being partners because I suspect him of fraud. I have evidence. He should never send us an email again. As for the invitation, I'll accept it. It's been so many years, I'd like to see how well the pack I'd struggled to uplift with my ex-husband had become” I say, “Fine, Luna. I'll contact the fashion designers to make your dress. I'll send some samples” “No need, just get me something simple from the mall. Simon doesn't really deserve such stress from me” I declared. I continued to work on my MacBook, reading the newsletter in my emails and sending some messages to the pack's elders. According to my father, I'm supposed to hold meetings with them regarding the next full moon arena I'll be hosting. Ever since his death, I'd never had any big activity in the pack. It would be good to honor the upcoming arena. I made my way to the library. My father had kept a book there for me as a guide to the arena's activities. Our pack, being more powerful, carried out more activities in our events than other werewolves.. I didn't want to disappoint him so I had to learn. It's still two months away, there's enough time to prepare. As I made my way to the library, I was also busy on my phone checking the news when I stumbled upon the news of Alpha Simon's upcoming wedding. I wasn't bothered, I'd stopped loving him many years ago. I was only disappointed that I'd loved and served the wrong man all these years. I swiped the news off my feed and then my phone rang. “Hello Gwen, you could've mind linked me” “Luna, there's a little trouble. The alpha of the Red-Claw pack is in our company and he demands to meet you” Gwen announces. I ended the phone call with my fist clenched tightly. Why wouldn't this old man let me be? I already cancelled the alliance and paid my father's debt. We didn't owe him anymore, why is he hell-bent on making this difficult for me? I could feel my wolf getting enraged as I thought about getting married to that man. It would've been a nightmare for us both. The alpha of Red-Claw pack was searching for a breeder, he signed a deal with my father years ago to get married to me and make me his breeder. Our pack was experiencing a financial crisis so my father agreed to the deal. I wasn't aware about it, I was in love with Simon and I got married to him after running from home. I never wanted an arranged marriage so I tried to make my marriage with Simon work. I already paid him back, I already gave him the lands he requested for in exchange for the alliance to be ended. I couldn't understand why he'd come here again. Was he trying to ask for more things? I head back to my office, briefly dropping the book I'd come to pick up in the first place. Heading back to my office with my heart filled with rage, I called Jerry and my men to be on standby. I didn't trust anyone, what if he tries to abduct me. I finally reached my office but then, the feelings in my heart changed. I saw Gwen waiting right outside for me. “Luna, you're here” she says, a cold look in her face as she stares at me. I couldn't depict the problem immediately. “Where is he?” I asked. “He's inside your office, Luna, the alpha isn't who we think he is…” she says, I turned to her coldly. “What do you mean?” I asked… My head spinned and I felt dizzy which I tried to ignore and focus on the situation on ground. “Luna, are you alright?” She asks me, being my beta, she must've felt it too. “I'm fine, let's just get on with this” I responded, holding the knob and walking inside the office. My chest beat faster and my eyes rolled even more aggressively. I tried to hang on and not look weak in front of them. I didn't understand why I felt this way, I've felt it before, on that same night when I met my mate. The heat, the heartbeats, the bonds and connections. My mate was here and I could perceive his sweet scent. I managed to walk into the office, putting my wolf in check despite how I felt inside me. If my mate was here, I'd have to deal with this alpha first before I go to him. As I made my way towards my seat, I'd almost lost my balance. I managed to hang on until I reached my desk and I finally faced him, the man sitting right opposite my desk was no old hag of an Alpha. He was young, handsome and familiar.. His cold piercing gaze held onto mine with a feeling of longing. I could feel the bond between us, just like that night when I was grasped in the touch of his fingers, held onto his body tightly like a burden unwilling to let go. The man in front of me held a cold deadly look, his face was stoic, his jawline well outlined and his dark hair had a part falling down his face. I remember him perfectly, The same man who devoured me in his bed while I begged for his mercies. Finn Vancouver, the father of my pup. “Mate!” I heard my wolf declare in an aggressive onslaught.
