HIS SECRET ADMIRER

Author's POV After losing her parents at the age of nine from a terrible car accident Rebecca Josephs' life was never the same. At her parents' funeral everyone was sympathizing with her, so she thought. The Josephs Family was not a very wealthy family but they had enough to live a decent life. "What a poor little girl, losing both parents at the same is tragedy" one of the guest was whispering to the lady besides her who looked like she had better things to do than being at the funeral "yah I know but it's life" she rolls her eyes and look down to her shoes "Oh I can't believe Emily's shoes fit me so well" and with that she laughs (Emily was Rebecca's Mother). Rebecca was sitting next to her grandmother with her red glassy eyes. In her mind she was thinking if anyone here care about her or all they want was the little her parents had left her or if life was going to be the same. She started remembering her mother's promise. [FLASHBACK] " On Your 10th birthday mommy and daddy will take their little angel on a trip to Rome" Emily said locking her pinky finger with her daughter's little finger "mommy you know you can't break a pinky promise right" and she gave her a little mischievous smile "yes Becca we know my little angle" (Becca short for Rebecca) Andrew Josephs says lifting his daughter from behind gaining a giggle from her "Ooo morning my love you seem so energetic today, but you haven't had your coffee" as she smiles at her husband and giving him a kiss on the cheek and she kisses her daughter who is still in her father's arms " they say if you start the day happy you will end the day happy" Andrew puts his daughter down and took his cup of coffee, sitting on the bar stool looking at his wife making breakfast. [END OF FLASHBACK] "In your head again my love" Rebecca panics a bit "it's just me my love " she smiles to see her nana standing next to her and she hugs her "I miss them nana" with a shaky voice as she hags her grandmother tightly "You will be fine my little darling" with that she kisses her forehead. After the funeral everyone looked so ready to go home. Andrew had two brothers and one sister, only his elder brother and his wife were present for the funeral not that they cared more than the others but they had thier own interests. Andrew's brothers has always been jealous of their younger after their parents passed away he worked harder than the others and he got a reward for that a good job and his loving wife which either of them did not have. On the other hand Emily had two sisters and both of them were present for the funeral. Emily's sisters loved Becca as their own child and would do anything for her, Emily was the elder sister and they had a very strong bond between them, they took their mother's heart Agnes Becca's nana. Andrew's family never liked Emily and her family because they were raised by a single mother and they believed that they were ill-mannered, but that didn't stop Andrew to be the best loving husband to Emily and it is Becca's dream to find someone who will love her just like how her dad loved her mother. "You unmannered people you think taking Becca with you, you will gain the house and my brother's property, go to hell" Adam screams as he enter the house with his trophy wife next to him (Adam, Andrew's elder brother) " we don't want your brother's things you airhead, all we want is what's best for Becca" Emily's younger sister (Elizabeth) has always been the most vocal one in the family and she was outspoken "You good for nothing you don't talk to my husband like that" always on her husband's side like a minion, Sharon never had a mind of her own. " shut up you thief, didn't even wait for us to burry my sister you already wearing her clothes, have you no shame?" looking up and down in a mocking way at the slander blonde women wearing her sister's shoes and dress, Elizabeth couldn't take it any more and charged straight to Sharon "enough!!!" Elizabeth stops after hearing her angry mother's voice "we don't want anything from your late brother all we need is my grandchild" Agnes couldn't take the fights anymore all she knew was that the Josephs never had Becca's interests in mind with that Adam smiles "she's all yours now leave my brother's house" with that he leaves the house making a call "Hello Mr Helton I would like to sell my brother's house as soon as possible" the man behind the phone frowns "I'm sorry Mr Josephs you can't sell the house it belongs to our fame until Ms Rebecca is 18 and I can't help you with anything" with that he clears his throat and hangs up the phone. NINE YEARS LATER "I'm sorry Ms there is nothing else we can do the cancer has spread all over her body" " please doctor save my grandmother" with that Becca opens her eyes only to realize she was dreaming "having another nightmare my Jelly bean" Elizabeth rubs her niece forehead and kisses her on the same spot she was rubbing "You know I'm eighteen now lizzy you can't keep calling me that chidsh name" with that she earns a smile from her aunt "you still my little baby, now come on you need to take a shower you can't be late on your first day" Becca rolls her eyes at her aunt as she storms out of the room knowing very that lizzy doesn't like it " this naughty child, I wish mother was still hear to see her going to University today" Agnes had passed four months ago and it wasn't easy for Merlise(lizzy's sister the middle child), Lizzy and Rebecca, over the past four months Becca has been having nightmares about the day she found out that her grandmother had cancer, her cancer was in the finale stage and the doctors couldn't do anything to save her. Lizzy had divorced her four year husband two years ago because she couldn't give him children and her selfish husband disrespected her by bringing another woman in their house on the day they had divorced. She ended up moving to her mother's place were Becca was staying and Becca became her only child and best friend. Agnes' house was not big or fancy but it had a homely feeling and it was a neat three bedroom house. Merlise still married and has her two loving children and lives Happily married with her husband. After their mother's death they both agreed to sell their house and pay half of Becca's college fee and she also got a student loan on the side as well and with the other money Lizzy used it to pay for their new apartment which was close to Becca's University. Lizzy couldn't let go of Becca after all she was her only child her sister left for her and she wanted her to come home every weekend. It is a two bedroom apartment but that was all they needed after all it was only the two of them and it was a 1 hour drive to Becca's University. "I made pancakes I hope you will like them" Becca looks at Lizzy who looks so beautiful just like her mother in her strawberry print apron. Lizzy was a good cook just like her mother after all she was her mother's sister, between the sister Lizzy looked more like Emily than Melise " Stop starring Jelly bean you make me reconsider your student residence application and keep you here" Becca just gives her a sad look and sits on one of the stool next to the kitchen counter and starts putting vanilla syrup on her pancakes "already feeling home sick before you even left" Lizzy gives her a mischievous smile "oh Lizzy you know how I am so excited to start my campus life" she gives a aunt a big mischievous smile and continues "Oh the campus parties I can't wait" and they both lough knowing how much she hates parties "now eat fast and stop talking nonsense You can't be late for your orientation day" with her motherly tone and she leaves the kitchen to change. "I hoped you packed everything Jelly bean". Lizzy was so excited that her niece was now going to Varsity but she didn't like her staying at the campus but it was Becca's choice. Melise thought it was a Good idea and she would be able to make friends on her own. "hey smile and please make friends, this is now Varsity not high school dont be a loner Becca" Lizzy smiled at her niece and gives a her a kiss on the cheek " and how will I make friends when you still kiss me like a middle school kid" Becca gives her aunt a lazy smile "As for that you will figure out my Jelly bean, out out lets take your things to your new room " Lizzy has always been the sweetest aunt ever to Becca. Becca has always been a very shy child since middle and she found it hard to make friends and she would spend most of her time by herself or with Lizzy. Her prom date was Some nerd that was staying next door her grandmother who was asked by Melise actually paid to ask her to be his prom date but Becca still doesn't know. After signing all the papers she was requested to by the administrator Becca and Lizzy followed a senior student who was wearing a green t-shirt written EIUT, A smarter choice for a brighter future and she remembered the day she received her acceptance letter those were on top of the letter, she smiled 'mommy and daddy I hope you can see this your daughter did it' she thought to her self. They reached at a high-rise building. "please follow me ladies" that's when Becca noticed it wasn't only the three of them a few freshman girls were following them as well. "this building is insane" "it is so big dude" some of the Freshman complimenting the building in front of them. " My name is Mercy I'm your senior and I'm in charge of you all little freshman welcome to Diamond house" the senior who came with them was now standing next to Mercy "this is my vice Lisa if you can't find me talk to her" smiling at the girl next to her " All freshman use the second, third and fourth floor, fifth and sixth floor seniors only" and she give a wicked smile "laundry, gym, mini library, cinema and game area is on first floor here, read all the rules take pictures of the rule to avoid breaking them sign the papers and leave them by the desk before going to the main hall" with that she disappeared "DS1,DS2 and DS3 go to third floor" Becca was DS2, she smiled at Lisa who did smile back and she went straight to the elevator with Lizzy behind her and a group of girls. following Lisa's directions she saw a brown door with her room number and she sigh with relief after what felt like forever "found it" Becca hears a loud voice behind "Oh yes you did my little pumpkin " an elderly woman cames from nowhere and kisses the owner of the loud voice 'probably mother and daughter' Becca thought and she smiled opening the door to her new home for the next five years. it looked like a small apartment three bedrooms, toilet, bathroom with a shower and tab, a small kitchen with three bar stools next to the kitchen counter and on the other side there is a couch and a small coffee table with a TV mounted on the wall. "looks way too comfortable for just college students don't you think" the elderly women looks a Lizzy and gives her smile "I wouldn't agree less" and they both get deadly looks from the girls "Back when I was in college we didn't get all this" the elderly women start looking around "I'm Anna by the way and this is my daughter Ruth" "nice to meet you Anna I'm Elizabeth but just call me Lizzy and this is my daughter Becca" with that she earned a smile from Becca and she knows how Becca likes it when she calls her daughter."nice to meet you Lizzy" and she hugs Lizzy 'already' Becca smiles inside. "As much as I want to help you pack I also still love my job and I have to be there within an hour" Lizzy leaves the bed and kisses Becca on the forehead "goodbye Jelly bean, Melise said she will vist tomorrow she had a busy schedule today and she couldn't make it today, more study and less boys" she give Becca another kiss but on the cheek this time "boys me" and she laughs "it's Varsity you never know" "bye Lizzy" pouting her small lips. Lizzy gives her niece one last kiss on her cheek and hugs her tight and after that she leaves. Deep in her thoughts she didn't even hear Ruth knocking "are you okay Becca" a soft worried voice brings her back and she jumps from the bed "yoh you scared Ruth" "sorry I tried knocking and you didn't answer, I was worried" she looked at her with an I'm sorry facial expression "we good" Becca smiles and nodded she looked so cute for her to be angry with her. Ruth is a bit shorter than Becca she is 5'4 and Becca is 5'6 not a big difference though. Ruth has a small round face big eyes and short curly brown hair her chest is the first thing someone would notice with her chubby figure on the other hand Becca has a tiny figure with a small waist and some noticeable carves her chest not big but not Small, a heart shaped face, small lips, big eyes long black hair she just like her mom. "so are you ready for the orientation speech" Becca looked at Ruth with a confused look "Oh my goodness don't tell me you have no idea" " don't have a clue" Ruth invites herself in and sit on Becca's chair next to her desk "I'm sure you know Alexander Connery the CEO of Dav AI tech company who is into Robotics and so on," Becca nodded in response "this year he is the guest speaker, I heard that starting from this year he will be awarding 5 best students from different departments an internship but only open for third years only" she sigh with a disappointed face and she continues "Mr Connery doesn't do speeches at universities but this year he strangely accepted the offer but after the speech there is a a freshman party" "I don't like Parties" "you better like this one it's compulsory and it's a dumb party anyways lecturers will there" both Ruth and Becca turned their face at the door to look for the unfamiliar voice and a tall girl was standing at the door who looks like 6'2 with a nice afro wearing ripped jeans with black boots and a black crop top " sorry for the scare I saw your door open" and winked at them "I'm Daisy your roommate DS1 and I think we should be going to the main hall now for the orientation speech you don't want to be standing for the rest of the speech" the girls started running around looking for clothes to wear.
