I wasn't surprised by what she did nor do I believe it made her a monster. What worried me was the last line. "I would kill me too.".

When she turns to me this time the numbness has finally dissipated, her green eyes are rimmed in red and silent tears stain her cheek. I sigh somewhat relieved she's no longer in a shocked state. I can manage tears.
I move to the backside of the tub and grab some shampoo. I gently pour some water on her head while shielding her face with my other hand. I squirt some shampoo into my palm and gently massage it into her scalp. She closes her eyes and relax
