Chapter3

Sam got dressed in 20 minutes and hurriedly left her room while booking a cab with her phone.

"Good morning Sam, What's wrong? You don't look all good this morning" Olivia ask concerned while sipping from her cup of coffee when she saw sam's frustrated face.

"Morning Oli, I'm damn late for work and Mr Gray is definitely going to have my head on his desk as breakfast. My stupid alarm rang an hour late" Sam said in frustration.

" Calm down girl, You need to see how you look right now. Let me help you adjust your clothes well. You need to make a good impression on your first day " Olivia said

" Thank you Oli " Sam said in relief as she allow Olivia adjust her clothes and arrange her hair to look good.

" All done , you're now ready for your first day" Olivia said applauding herself.

" Thank you, now I have to hurry because my ride is outside " Sam said staring at her phone when a notification popped up.

" Alright girl, have a great day at work on your first day" Olivia said and wave at her.

Sam came out of the house and walk to the cab waiting for her.

"G.W Co-operation" she said and the driver started driving immediately.

By the time Sam got to the company, it was already 7:40 and she was late. She came across the receptionist of the previous day again and all She did was roll her eyes at Sam and started barking.

"You're already late for your first day you classless b***h" she roar

"Hey...watch your tongue okay" Sam said calmly. She didn't want to cause a scene on her first day.

"Or you'll do what?" the receptionist - Gloria ask

"I'll do nothing like you don't exist. Now can I go upstairs now? Enough of your nonsense already. I'm already late" Sam reply in anger coupled with her frustration and Gloria hissed and went back to her work.

Sam walk to the elevator feeling nervous. She didn't know what will happen now that she is late on her first day at work. Mr Gray is definitely going to have her head today because he clearly said that lateness of staff was prohibited.

The elevator stop at the 20th floor and she walk out of it still feeling so nervous that she didn't notice when angry Ethan and his guards walk passed her. It was after they have gone far a little that she turn back and saw them but she didn't have any idea that it was Ethan and his guards.

She got to gray's office and knock before entering.

"Young lady, you're 15 minutes late. I told you that I don't like it when my staff aren't punctual to work" Gray said quietly but his voice carried so much authority. He was standing close to the window and backing Samantha. He was staring at the busy city.

"I'm so sorry sir, it won't happen again please" Sam shiver with her head bow. She didn't want any trouble and his voice was also terrifying making her wonder where those softness of his went to.

"You're daring me young lady" Grayson said as he turn around, now facing the pretty lady in front of him.

"I'm sorry" She said still bowing. He smile but the smile disappear almost immediately. He loved being the ruthless and strict boss. He pick up the telephone on his desk and dial a code.

"Daisy, to my office" he said strictly

Few minutes later, a beautiful lady walk into the office as the sound of her heels announced her presence. She was wearing a pencil black skirt and a vintage long sleeve shirt with a black heels. Sam was still bowing her head because she didn't want any trouble. She was being very careful so as not to provoke Grayson.

"You called for me sir" daisy said when she got to the front of gray's desk.

"Yes Daisy, Meet Samantha Lucas, my new personal assistant" He said pointing to sam's direction.

"Do well to show her around the company and educate her on what she should know about her job" he added.

"Okay sir" Daisy said

"Samantha, you may go with her. She'll take you to your office"

"Okay Mr Gray" Sam said and smile at daisy as both women left the office. That was when Sam could breath well.

"Hi I'm Daisy and I'm going your tourist and tutor in this company for today" daisy said smiling.

"Thank you, I'm Samantha and I'm going to be your calm and attentive student" Sam said smiling and they both laugh.

"So this way Ms Sam" Daisy said as she walk majestically with Sam walking behind her.

Touring around the company with Daisy was so much fun for Sam. Her mouth was left open anytime daisy show her different department in the company. Their offices were spacious enough and every equipment needed were provided. She can only imagine how her office will look like.

"So this is the sales Department" daisy gesture with her hands and she point to the direction when they got to the sales Department.

"Wow, can my mouth get any wider than this? This company is so big and I'm so glad to be here" Sam exclaim

" So this is the last part of the company. Now let's take you to your office " Daisy said already exhausted.

" Sure... I've seen enough already " Sam said.

They went back to the 20th floor and stop at the office opposite Grays.

" This is so beautiful " Sam happily said when they got inside.

" I know right?... Okay em... welcome to G.W CO - OPERATION. Your job as Mr Gray's P.A is to help schedule meetings and be in attendance, Prepare important documents, Going with him to every board meetings home and abroad, making him coffee every morning and lastly, reporting to him before leaving the office every closing hours"

" What? "

" What is it Sam, did I say anything wrong? "

" Making him coffee every morning? I'm not his errand girl"

" Oops! sorry, but you have to do it. That's the rule here. "

" Okay fine, how do I make it? Or doesn't he has his taste?"

" Ofcourse he does, I'll teach you how to make his coffee after this lesson." Daisy smile at Sam.

"Okay.."

Daisy lecture Sam on how she should operate as Gray's P.A while working with him so she won't get on his bad book. He was a no nonsense strict boss who doesn't hesitate to fire staff that aren't serious. Daisy made sure Sam was close to perfect in everything she has taught her before calling it a day.

"If there's anything you don't understand, my office is on the 18th floor. So don't fail to reach out to me. Now let's go back to work." Daisy said with a smile on her face.

" Thank you for being such an amazing tutor today... I'll definitely reach out to you if there's anything I find difficult "

" Okay Ms Sam, I trust you to do a good job. Have a nice day" Daisy said and left sam's office.

Sam smile and relax on her chair as she look around the office. How fate made her start working in the office over night is what her mind can't comprehend.

It was indeed a miracle because her certificate wasn't enough for her to start working in an office and not just any position, but the company's CEO's PA.

It means, no more harassment from men all in the name of patronizing a restaurant. No more tolerance from annoying customers who always think they were right for insulting staff. All she did was smile.

Still in thought, the telephone on her desk made it's ringing sound. Sam pick it up and place it on her right ear.

"My office now" Gray's scary voice said and he ended the call.

Now she has one annoying boss to deal with.

~Who the hell does he think he is?~ She wondered.

She got up regardless and started heading for his office. She got there in no time since her office was opposite Gray's office. He was working on his computer when she got there.

"Why did it take you so long to get here?" Gray ask without lifting his head and Sam secretly roll her eyes.

"I'm sorry sir" she said politely.

"Work on these documents and make three copies of each of them" Gray said throwing three different files on his desk.

"Okay sir" Sam said and carried the files from the desk.

"Anything else sir?" she ask

"No, you can go and I saw you rolling your eyes at me. " His words made a bang on Sam's head.

" I'm sorry sir" she said petrified.

"It's alright, you can go now" Gray said and Sam left immediately. She heave a sign of relief when she got to get office.

"How the hell did he see that? Is he a beast or something? Of course he's a beast" She muttered to herself.

She walk to her desk with the files and started working on them. It was easy because of how Daisy lectured her to her understanding. When she was done, she made a photocopy of the three files separately and arrange them neatly before taking it back to Gray's office.

"Here are the files sir and their photocopies" She said and drop the files on his desk.

"Okay... Make a Pie chart of these data and make make three photocopies" He said and throw and another set of files on his desk.

"Okay sir" Sam said politely but deep down, she felt like shoving his head in his desk.

That was how busy Sam day was till closing hours. She was so exhausted by closing hours. Mr Gray didn't give her a breathing space. From one work to the other. The only time she had a break was during lunch and she had piles of work waiting for her before she returned.

Thank God it was closing hours but she has to report to him before leaving the office. She went into his office and saw him still very busy with his laptop.

"Em...Mr Gray, I'm ready to leave the office now" she said when she got to the front of his desk but he didn't raise his head to even glimpse at her not to talk of replying her.

She waited for few minutes without getting any reply from him. She was about to remind him again when he close his laptop and got up from his chair and finally gave her a glance.

"Let's go" he said and walk up to her.

"Go where sir?" she ask confused.

"Home" He said raising his eyebrow.

"O.. okay sir" she said reluctantly.

They went into the elevator together and came out to the first floor. His guards already open the car for him to enter by the time he got outside the company. He went in but Sam stop on her track.

"Why are you still standing outside?" Gray ask

"Em... am I suppose to go home in your car?" She ask sluggishly.

" Yes" He replied with no emotion.

" I'm sorry sir but I can't " she said

" Then consider yourself and your family miserable for the rest of your lives" he threatened and her heart skip. Sam look at him in disgust for a while before entering the car reluctantly.

The drive back home was filled with silence. Sam didn't know what to say to him to light up the atmosphere. Why would she want to start a conversation with her boss? The beast himself. It was too awkward together with the fact that she had a one night stand with him few days ago.

Gray on the other hand was buried to his phone.

They got to sam's house and she got down. She wanted to say thank you but car drove away even before she could start. She roll her eyes and went inside her house.

Olivia wasn't home and her number wasn't going through. Sam thought that she went to her boyfriend's house or maybe she was coming home late tonight.

She was about going to the her room when she heard a knock on the door. Olivia never knock, she would rather shout sam's name or call her. Then who was at the door?

Her heart skipped a bit.
