CHAPTER FIVE - NEW SHERIFFS IN TOWN

My father was out of his mind and I loved it. He really had become a true fan of Parker. I couldn’t wait to see him walk Parker down the aisle. We couldn’t focus on things like that right now though. There was too much going on.

Lucian and Mandy’s wedding was this week. Lucian had fought with Mandy briefly over putting their Bachelor and Bachelorette party together. He didn’t want to leave Mandy and Parker for a whole 24 hours. He said it was already too much to be away from his Luna for a five day honeymoon.

It didn’t take long for Mandy to cave. They would have a baby shower tomorrow then their parties the following day. The next day would be the wedding. It was going to be a long week. We were all so happy for them.

After the wedding it would be time to plan our induction ceremony. It was going to be crazy but fun. Parker was freaking out a little about it but at least he knew the pack accepted him and his white wolf. Especially after Andrew's speech a few weeks ago.

Dad had called for an announcement a few days after Christmas, soon after Parker had shown his wolf to all of us. We invited all the surrounding packs as usual.

Our uncle’s pack was the first to show up and he came with Pija, the son that would take over his pack in a week and Piran, the one who’d been going for our own spots as Alpha in Blue Moon.

“You lied to me,” Piran said fiercely but quietly to me and Axel when he saw us alone.

Axel kept his cool though. “As I said over the phone Piran, our father made this decision and we fought for ourselves first over you. We told you that from the beginning and I’m getting a bit tired of you accusing us of otherwise.”

“I’m perfect for this pack!” he said a little louder. “I’m better than you three would be especially with a male mate. It’s a disgrace,” he finished with narrowed eyes.

Andrew walked up then, leaving Parker with Lucian. “There is only one reason I won’t take you outback and thrash you right now,” he said. “It would ruin my mate’s night. But after I speak tonight, I won’t allow you one more word against him. We understand your frustration. But we told you over the phone and you had no reason to come so why did you?”

“I wanted to hear the words from Alpha Anton himself. The proof of your betrayal.” With that he walked off and stood in a corner brooding.

Axel just shrugged him off but Andrew was pissed. Maybe he was just gearing up for his speech tonight. He wanted to make clear that the fiercest wolves in the world would destroy anyone who would come up against Parker.

“I, Alpha Anton, have made my decision regarding my choice for predecessor once I retire from my post as Alpha of Blue Moon,” my father spoke into the mic on stage. “I have chosen my sons, Alpha Axel, Alpha Andrew and Alpha Aaron to lead this pack!”

Thunderous applause and cheers came from inside behind us and outside as we looked into the crowd. He called us forward. Parker’s hands were shaking.

“And I have accepted as the Luna Alpha, Parker Campbell!”

The crowd went wild again as most people had already accepted him as their Luna. We all bowed to our pack and they in turn bowed to us.

“In the next coming months there will be an induction ceremony and a changing of the guard. I will leave it to your next Alphas to explain.” Dad motioned for Axel to take the mic and was surprised to see Andrew walk over.

Andrew smirked and pulled Parker over with him. “Good evening Blue Moon! We are extremely excited to be taking over this pack. We will dedicate our lives to serving and protecting you, building this pack up and making your lives happy and healthy. Do not ever hesitate to come to us with problems or any news you think we must know. Your new Betas will be Derek Jr. and Allen!”

They both stepped forward and bowed. The crowed cheered again and kept doing so as Andrew introduced Charlotte as Beta female and then Lucian and Mandy as the Gammas.

“Now I am to introduce you to mine and my brothers’ fiancé. From this moment on you are to refer to him as your Luna Alpha. He loves and cherishes everyone in this pack and I expect the same kindness bestowed upon him.”

He waited for applause to die down and everything got eerily quiet.

“My brother is known as the Savage Beast,” Andrew continued. His demeanor changed and so did his voice and eyes. Toni had taken over.

“But I am the Killer Beast. I will rip apart anyone who looks at my fiancé with anything other than loyalty. No one will be spared. I will drag the bodies of a hundred wolves across this land at the first notion of a cruel word. If you touch him, I’ll lose control and destroy everything you hold dear.

Anyone who dares harm him will seek the moon Goddess for mercy but you will find none here. Your blood will be my drink and I will sip from the cup with pleasure. I will strike your ancestors down so there will be no more of you in the world. Once your blood has been spilled I will burn your body in your home along with all your possessions so that there is no trace of you left. People will forget that you even existed.”

It was quiet after that and you could hear a pin drop. Andrew’s labored breathing ceased and his eyes returned to his own. Parker looked terrified at his words. I looked to Axel and he was grinning. Terix and Tyan approved.

“And now we will hear from your Luna Alpha,” Andrew stepped back, smiling.

It had been a good minute before Andrew had spoken again so his words were startling. But the moment he mentioned my baby the cheers rang out wildly. As they should.

I could see Parker struggling to swallow and speak after Andrew’s emphatic speech so I went up behind him and put my hand around his waist. He seemed to calm a little.

“Um, thank you Alpha Andrew,” he said warily. “And Alpha Anton.”

He cleared his throat and stood tall as a Luna should. It made me smile wide. “Well, I should hope that we will all get on as friends. Being your Luna Alpha is a big responsibility that I don’t take lightly. As your Alpha said I cherish each and every one of you. From the elites to the orphans to the Omegas to the Deltas and the warriors. I am here to lift you up and make sure that your time with me is wonderful.

I welcome any problems you might have or a*********s you might like to tell me. I will help each and everyone of you in any way I can. This is my home and you are my family. And I accept the task of being your Luna.

Thank you for accepting me. Thank you for giving me a chance. And if I mess up once or twice, just don’t drag me through the streets and drink my blood from a cup?”

People chuckled nervously at that joke and Parker grinned back at Andrew. He just smirked.

“Thank you Blue Moon and thank you to all of our visiting Alphas and their families!” Parker finished. I nodded at him as the crowd cheered.

No, not now! – Parker

Yes, now. – me

Then you do it. – Parker

It’s your secret to tell. – me

We’ll back you up. – Axel

We’re right here. – Andrew

We all crowded behind Parker as he took a deep breath. “Blue Moon!” he thundered. The crowd stopped and paid attention again. “We will have a run tonight, following our party, uh… festivities. That is where I will present my wolf whose name is Sai.”

‘Luna Alpha Sai’, the crowd bowed and whispered all over. Parker swallowed hard again.

“He’s a white wolf,” Parker said.

First there was a rush of gasps then silence. I could feel Parker’s back sweat coming off his shirt. The crowd inside behind us began moving around and murmuring loudly. Most people had heard but now they were presented with the truth.

“I’m quite proud to be a white wolf,” Parker said quietly into the mic. The crowd quieted again, some in fear and some in curiosity.

“Sai is clever, funny, and he’s helped me gain confidence in my abilities as a werewolf and a Luna. He’s strong and quick and a silly old wolf. And I promise to you now, that he will fight hard for this pack. We will protect you with everything we have. Sai will always have your back. And you’ll get to see him tonight.”

It remained quiet for a few moments until the crowd began to clap and then cheer and then go wild. They were still shocked, but in a good way.

The rumors were true!

"A white wolf in our pack!"

"We’ll be truly protected from all those rogues!"

"White wolves are super strong!"

"They bring good luck!"

"It’s a good thing he’s Luna, a white wolf should be in charge!"

People in the crowd and behind us in the packhouse were really starting to talk. It was the visiting Alphas who really seemed to be more aggressive with their reactions to him.

"Will he be a threat to our pack? He has his own pack, he’ll rule here. Technically he is an Alpha so he’ll be in charge. What kind of magic does he have I wonder…will he use his magic on other packs?? Will he try to take over?"

The conversations were flying wild. Parker’s nervousness came back. I stepped up to the mic which surprised even me. The crowd bowed to me.

“I am Alpha Aaron as most of you may know,” I said. “Luna Alpha will not only be your Luna but your Alpha as well. We will all have different roles in this pack but you will treat him with respect. All of you who know him know that he is kind hearted and loving. His wolf is too. Yes, he has magic but he’s opposed to using it unless necessary. He is only interested in ruling over Blue Moon-" I looked back at the Alphas behind me.

“And he would never challenge another Alpha unless they threatened Blue Moon. Even then his Alphas would take care of any threat to Blue Moon before that happened. I hope that clears everything up.”

I didn’t realize it but Tyan had taken over at the end, watching the Alphas behind us.

“Well we’re all happy to hear that!” my father had taken back over the mic. “Come Blue Moon and guests, let us celebrate our new Alphas and our Luna Alpha!”

Cheers rang out again and we all headed back inside the packhouse. Parker was looking around nervously, trying to listen to what the elites were saying about him. We all were.
