Ella's words have been on replay like a broken record in my mind.

I paced up and down in my office, with every single step taken with frustration and nervousness. Thinking of how to make things right between us, at least to make her understand that the journey in front is not for the weak-hearted.

Her voice echoed in my head, cutting me as sharp as a blade. I clenched my fists tightly, dipping my claws into my palm, feeling the sting of her rejection as fresh as if she’d slapped me.
What was I thinking? I shouldn’t have kissed her. Although I don't regret doing it because I have missed her a lot. Everything is just complicated. She needs to be strong enough for the task ahead.
