ANNALISE POV
All I see is darkness around me, even when my eyes are open. At least I got through to Scott. I know now that he does want me, and not Jill. I can't help but be happy to hear that and to have shared a kiss with him, even if it was during mental communication. I am also painfully aware that I have been abducted, and it wasn't part of the plan, but at least it's me and not Blair. Maybe now I'll get to see who this king is.
"I wish you had been more of a challenge." I hear a feminine voice as the bag on my head is ripped away. I look up and blink to adjust to the light and take I'm my surroundings. I'm definitely in a cell, with silver chains holding my arms above my head as I sit on the ground. Wherever I am, they've had time to get some building constructed, I can see them through the small barred window behind the woman. I focus on her. As my vision clears, I see Jill sitting there with her long legs crossed, looking at her perfectly manicured nails.
"Jill." I spit out, not hiding how annoyed I am.
"Oh please, don't act so tough. It was so easy to take you." He stands and moves closer to my cell, looking down on my through the bars. "But don't worry, you won't be alone for long." She laughs as she walks out.
I pull on my chains, they're silver, good thing they don't know I'm trained to withstand torture and silver. I've lived through enough pain. Nothing can be worse than what I felt these last two years. I don't know how much time has passed, but in walks, Declan carrying a small body with a bag over their head as well. He chains her up in the cell across from mine. He stops and looks at me over his shoulder as he pulls the bag off. There sat my mates sister, unconscious, and badly bruised. He locks her cell behind him and walks over to mine.
"Enjoy your cell, mate. The king will be down once you're both awake." He laughs.
Shit. I sit there and just stare at Blair. This can't be happening. Why would he take both of us? After a while, she began to stir, I knew when she realized something was wrong. Her head snaps up as she frantically looks around.
"Blair, listen to me." She continues to look around. "Blair, I need you to focus on me." Her eyes meet mine.
"Anna? What's going on? Where are we?"
"I will answer your questions, but I need to take some deep breaths first. Can you do that?" She nods and begins to get control of her body and heart rate again. "I don't know where exactly we are, but I do know that for some reason, the King, as he likes to call himself, has taken an interest in both of us. I'm assuming he brought us both here to see which one of us he likes more. No matter what they say or do, try not to react. I'm here, and I will get us both out of here." The sound of heavy footsteps pulls both of us to look in the direction they're coming from. Declan walks out first, then Jill, then some rogues, and then the King. I starred at the man. He was one I had hoped to never see again outside of my nightmares.
"Isn't this a treat?" He smiles as he bends down to look at me through the bars that separate us. "I have to admit, I'm surprised that Dean let's you wander around rather than safe and protected at the Crimson Pack." I just stare at him, trying to hide my surprise.
"Drake. You're looking well for a man who is supposed to be dead. I especially like the scars I gave you four years ago running down your face." I smirk as he growls and bangs on the metal. I notice Blair jump at the sound out of the corner of my eye.
"I'd behave if I were you, Anna. I can always take it out on your precious mates' little sister over there." I look quickly over at her, her eyes wide with fear.
"Now now, no need to be desperate. You and I both know that won't work on me. While I may like his sister, my mate has put me through pain with your little lap dog over there." He looks back at Jill and then smiles.
"Oh, I know." He's getting cocky. That was his downfall four years ago, and I'm sure it will be now too.
"So, Drake, why do you need both of us?" I ask as I move my foot and watch it as I act uninterested.
"Because I need a luna, and my future beta needs a mate." I look up at him. He is serious. He thinks he can play matchmaker.
"OK, thank you. You may go." I say with a dismissive wave of my hand, even though it's chained above my head. He stands up angrily and bangs on my cell again.
"I am in charge!" I smirk at his lack of control over his emotions.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night."
He and his band of merry rogues leave without another word. From Drake's body language, he is beyond angry. After a while of the two of us sitting in silence, I look over at Blair. She looks scared.
"Blair?" I ask. She slowly looks up at me.
"Yeah, Anna?"
"We're going to be ok. I will get us out of here, or at least you out of here." She nods just enough for me to see the small motion.
"Anna?" She asks quietly while looking at the ground.
"Yeah?" Our eyes meet once again.
"How do you know him?" She asks, I can't blame her for being curious. If it were up to me, I would never remember what happened.
"It's a long story, but I'll tell you the quick version for now." I sigh. "Right after my parents left and made Dean the alpha, Drake decided it was a good time to try to take over the pack. He wanted to be alpha. For years, he pretended to be my friend. When he realized the pack was loyal to my family, he decided he would take me as his mate. I was sixteen and said no, I wanted my mate. He ended up taking me to some caves just outside of the pack and held me there for weeks, trying to get me to change my mind. When he got impatient, he tried to forcefully mark me. I fought back and gave him those scars down his face, Dean and a bunch of warriors showed up. We all thought he was dead. Apparently, we were wrong. But this time, I'll take him out myself."
