Helping Blair

ANNALISE POV It's been two years since I found my mate, and for two years, I've experienced pain unlike any other. I worked hard and became the top spy in my brothers program. We mainly focus on groups of rogues, especially recently. There's a group that is trying to take over other packs. The leader calls himself the King. I've been in the woods following the group for about a week, and they've had no idea. Some of his scouts seem to be trying to get close to one pack in particular, but I've yet to hear why. Every night, I step away for a few minutes to notify my brother of my findings. I sleep very little and very lightly. I'm hoping I can end my mission soon and go home to sleep in a bed and get clean in a shower and not in a lake or river. A man yelling breaks my concentration on the activities of the men moving around. "I don't care what it takes! Get into Black Rock and bring me my luna!!" Finally, a break into their plans, I smirk. I watch as a group of four well-built men move into the forest. I grab my black packpack and begin following them from a distance and call my brother to notify him. "Have you found anything, Anna?" Comes his deep, worried voice. "Yes, he's sending a group of four rogues to the Black Rock Pack to kidnap one of the women. He claims it's his luna, but I highly doubt they're fated mates. I've started following the men to learn more from them and to stop their plan." I explain as quickly and quietly as I can. "Good job. Keep following them, intervene when needed. I'll call and let Alpha Scott know about the threat to his pack, and so he will be expecting you. He requested training, and I was going to send you there to help with the training after you got back, so this will just make it easier. I'll meet you there in a few days, and I'll bring you extra things for an extended stay." "Ok." The call disconnects, and I shove my phone in my pocket. I follow the four men for a day and a half when I notice that we've gotten to the pack lines. I don't see a single warrior patrolling the border, which is surprising. I adjust my backpack and climb one of the trees so I can get closer to the group. As I move towards them, I get the answer to my unspoken question about the border patrol. "He said he'd take care of the patrol in this area so we could get in undetected. He also said he'd distract her friend so that when she gets to the lake, she'll be alone and vulnerable." The tallest of the four says. So Alpha Scott has a mole in his pack. Interesting. I trail the group from the trees, silently moving through the connecting branches. We get to a lake side clearing. If these men weren't here to harm someone, I would have stopped to look around some more, but there's more pressing matters. After a few minutes, I see a beautiful girl about my height with long black hair and bright green eyes. Her white sundress is covered with blue daisies. She walks blissfully through the knee-high grass carrying what looks like sandals. The men begin to move out from their hiding spots in the trees. "Well, well, well, look what we have here." Snickers, one of the men. "The Alphas little sister." She takes a few steps back from them, looking around frantically for anyone to help. Her eyes cloud briefly, then flicker back to her normal color, the panic on her face showing more. Her eyes flicker again, and there's a distant howl. The four men exchange looks before jumping into action. "I guess she won't come very willingly." Says another one as he moves to grab her. I drop down from the tree I was in and drop my bag at the base. "Didn't your mother's every teach you about ganging up on a lone woman?" They all turn to me as I make a small movement with my head telling the girl to get out of here. "Keep her from running. You two, take care of her." Says the tallest, confirming my suspicions of him being in charge. Two go to block her from leaving as two come forward to fight me. I begin to feel the burn that I've grown accustomed to over the last two years, but it still hurts. Of course, my mate would have such perfect timing to have s*x right now. I take out the two effortlessly when the third man comes at me. I pull my double bladed knives from my boots, twirling them around my fingers for a minute as I crouch down again. He shifts to his wolf, a medium dull brown, with sad eyes. The wolf acknowledges the knives in my hands and my position and nods. It is a rare occurrence, but the wolf no longer desires to live with his human counterpart. I stand straight and nod to the creature before me. He half-heartedly jumps at me, making the kill easy as I plunge my knife into his throat on both sides at the same time. The tallest man steps forward, leaving the girl unguarded. "You may have made quick work of them, but I assure you, I'll be a tougher opponent." He smirks, and I roll my eyes. "Then how about you stop stalling and fight back." I taunt. I lose the height of the girl when he charges, and we both enter a bloody dance of kicks, punches, and a few stabs. He hits me just right to take away my ability to block out the pain from my mate for a moment. I drop to my knees in anguish. A sudden realization crosses his eyes. "I see now." He begins circling me. "Either your mate doesn't know you've met, or he just doesn't care. I'll have to thank him. He's just made killing you much easier. Though with the pain you're in, I'm sure you'd welcome death." He stops in front of me. I hide my smirk as I look back at the water behind him. Not many wolves learn to fight in the water. Pain or not, I'll have a huge advantage in the water. I stand, and his cocky expression falters. "You can thank him when you meet him in Hell. I can put you out of your misery faster with how long I've experienced his infidelity." I charge him and tackle him into the water. I got lucky with the depth. It's not shallow like it looks. I get behind him and put him in a choke hold until he passes out, and I swim him over to the edge. Just as I finish pushing his body onto dry land, a group of six pack warriors barrel through the trees, with two standing by the girl in a protective stance. The four growl at me as the crouch to attack. I haven't even gotten out of the water yet. "Wait!" Yells the girl as she struggles to get by the two wolves that have shifted to their human forms. "She saved me." She pants as she finally makes it by the big black wolves. They all shift and look at me, then back at her. "We still have to take her in." Says a slightly familiar looking man. "Rick, come on. She saved me. She left the one alive so you could question him." I slowly climb out of the water, making it known I'm not going to attack. "And my brother couldn't even be bothered to listen to my mind link." She adds as he lets out a frustrated breath. "I promise I'm no threat to you nor the pack. My alpha, Alpha Dean of the Crimson Pack, should have called your alpha and told him of my arrival a few days ago. I'm one of his spies." The girl steps towards me and links her arm through mine. "See." She smiles at Rick. "She's no threat to me or us. We'll be in my room. Let me know when my brother can see her." She leads me away from the group. I grab my bag quickly as we pass by the tree I left it by. We walk in silence to her room. The pack house is clean, very simple but elegant. Her room is big, with white carpet and walls, with light grey curtains, with pictures on the walls. Before I can finish taking in my surroundings, a voice breaks my focus. "I'm Blair. You can shower if you'd like. The bathroom is through there, I can grab you some clothes. We look like we might be about the same size." She says," Look me up and down. " "I'm Annalise, but you can call me Anna. I have a spare change of clothes but thank you. I'll shower and then be right out. Alpha Dean should be here soon." The shower feels great. Using lakes and rivers gets old after a while. The burning feeling has begun to diminish. I guess he had a long round in him today. Once I finish, I dry off, put on my black short sleeve shirt with my black jeans and black boots. Can you tell I wear black a lot? As I comb my hair, I walk out of the bathroom. Blair motions for me to join her on the bed. I sit cross-legged as I put my hair in two long French braids down my back. Before either of us could say anything, there was a knock at the door, and Rick opened it shortly after. "Alpha Dean is here. He's asked that you go with him to meet with Alpha Scott." I nod and make my way to the door. "Hey Anna." I turn back to the beautiful girl on the bed. "Thank you for helping me." She smiles. I smile back. "Anytime." I follow Rick down to where my brother and the rest of whomever he brought with him are waiting. When I saw him, I rushed, passed my guide, and jumped into my brothers arms. "I hear you had quite the entrance." He chuckles as he puts me down. I shrug. "No more than usual." "You'll have to tell me all about it." He laughs as Rick says he will take us to the alphas office. As we get closer, I smell the scent I smelt so long ago, and my wolf says "Mate" quietly in my head. I quickly put on the expression I've been trained to use during meetings like this, uninterested, and no emotions. Here goes nothing.
