ANNALISE POV
With Blair gone, it was easier to get some sleep. I didn't have to worry about her and our captors coming in and doing anything to her. Being able to actually sleep some also helped me heal more than I had. Knowing Blair was safe and Mitch's second chance made me so happy. Maybe now he won't live the life of a nomad, going on missions every chance he gets.
The shuffling of feet on the stone floor woke me up. I open my eyes to see Jill, Declan, and of course Drake standing there. Jill and Declan looked surprised to see only me in my cell, and Drake was breathing heavily, clearly trying to keep his cool. He turned his attention from the empty cell towards mine. Quickly moving towards the door and ripping it off its hinges. Once he was close enough, he crouched down and gripped my chin roughly.
"When did she escape?" He asked darkly.
"I don't know, I had my eyes closed." Technically, not a lie, I had closed my eyes as they left. A sharp pain across my cheek had my head snapping to my right. "I've felt more strength in the wind. You hit like a bitch." Anger crosses his face before he stands snd kicks me in the stomach.
"Get Alan, we need to move." He says over his shoulder, his eyes never leaving mine.
"So Alan is your lap dog, good to know." Without saying a word he leaves.
Hours later the same three enter just as dramatic as always, but Alan trails at the back of the group. His eyes don't meet mine as I stare daggers at him. Coward. Drake nods and leaves. Declan moves towards me with rope. Unfortunately he had to smart enough to know to tie my hands before unchanging me from the wall. The slight sizzle of skin and the burning sensation in my wrists let me know that the ropes were covered in wolfsbane, at least where it was tied around me.
My eyes never leave Alan as I'm roughly pulled to my feet to follow behind Declan. When we get outside to where the sun is shining brightly, I feel a little better. Taking a deep breath of fresh air and closing my eyes. After a minute I opened my eyes to see everyone packed and carrying backpacks, and the ranked wolves on horse back. Drake rides over taking the rope from Declan and tying the rope around the horn of his saddle.
"Be a good little doggy and keep up." He smirks before taking off with me running behind him, followed by the rest of the little pack.
DEAN POV
How did that piece of s**t survive? After the marks on his face that Anna gave him, and the beating I gave him, he should be dead. I ran as fast as I could in my wolf form towards the direction Mitch said this make shift pack is. After a few minutes I realized that I was being followed by Mitch's wolf.
"Dean, it wasn't just because we needed a cover that Anna insisted on being left behind." He links me. I stop dead in my tracks and shift back, he stops and shifts with me. "She didn't look good. It looked as I'd she was being used as a punching bag. Even with the silver resistance training I gave her, the silver chains on her wrists would still slow down her healing. The same with wolfsbane. Over time, her body will hit its limit and be as weak as if she had never trained at all to resist the effects of them." I run my hand down my face.
"We have to go get her now. I can't lose her, not after how our parents abandoned us. If I have to I'll call for help." Upon hearing the last little bit, surprise takes over as his main expression.
"Let's hope it doesn't get there. It's been so long, and Anna was so young, I don't think she even remembers him." He says as he begins to walk away. He pauses and looks over his shoulder. "Aren't you coming? Let's go get her."
The two of us ran until we made to the outskirts of their camp. As we looked around and watched, we realized there was no one there. Slowly and cautiously we made our way out into the open. I followed Mitch to where he said she was being held. When we got inside, my heart sank. It smelled heavily of her blood, some old but some recent. The overwhelming scent of wolfsbane in the cell. The door ripped off of the empty cell where my little sister was last seen.
Slowly and sadly we made our way back to the Black Rock Pack. Scott and Blair were sitting outside on the steps to the packhouse. When they saw we were alone, their hopeful expressions fell. Scott stood up and took a few steps towards us.
"Where is she?" He asked hesitantly.
"She wasn't there, the whole place was abandoned. They're gone."
