KING POV
Ever since I got word from my spy about the presence of some of the Crimson Pack being at Black Rock, I've taken to watching them. My man, I had follow the four of my best to the pack to bring me my bride, said he never saw the girl that was following them until she made her presence known.
I've watched her train this pack, she's good. I've watched her as she's gone for walks. I know she has sensed my presence because she looks around a lot. She makes it look like it's nothing, but I know she's looking for me as I lurk in the shadows. I have made my decision, and I no longer want the Black Rock alphas sister, I want Dean's sister. She's grown up well, and no one will be able to keep her safe from me.
ANNALISE POV
Something is wrong, I can feel it. I know I'm being watched when I'm leading training and walking around. When I search the trees, I don't see anything, which means they're good at hiding, but not good enough to hide their presence altogether. I've been searching for the traitor within this pack.
My mate still doesn't believe me that there is something not right. Since our encounter two days ago in the rain and his office, he hasn't been around very much. I haven't felt the painful burning lately, either. I hope that maybe after this is all over, we can come to some kind of peace and see if our mate bond will work.
So far today I have been in my room all day except for training and meals. I've been watching out my window in hopes of seeing someone enter or exit the tree line, but so far, nothing. I should probably call and update my brother. I move towards my phone when it lights up with a text.
"You will be mine.
King"
Well, that's a new development, I guess he's moved on from Blair. Now I really need to call my brother. I dialed his number, and it rings a few times.
"Hey Anna, how's it going?" He's in business mode, probably thinking this will in no way affect him personally.
"The trainings have been going well. Alpha Scott and I had a disagreement the other day about training methods, but I think it's been worked out." I'll give him the actual business first, then give him the personal.
"How much longer do you think you will need to be there?"
"Well, Em found her mate here, so she'll be staying. I think maybe another month or two and we'll be able to come home."
"How's your mate situation going with Scott?" I sigh, of course he'd ask that.
"So far, everything has been business related. There haven't been any developments between my mate and I. There's a girl here who says she's his future luna, so I guess that answers any questions I have on where I stand." I say as I sit on the chair I've had facing the window since I arrived. "Um, Dean, there's something else."
"What is it?" His cool and calm persona slips into his concerned big brother way of being.
"I don't think King still plans on taking Blair as his luna and mate." I say nervously.
"Why?" I take a screenshot of the text and send it to him.
"Look at the picture I sent you. I've felt like I'm being watched for the last few days."
"I will come get you. He won't dare come for you here." His tone is dark and protective.
"Dean, I don't think that's the way to go. We may be able to use this and catch him." He sighs, and I can envision him shaking his head.
"Fine, I will trust you. Keep at least Emmaline in the loop. Be safe, please." I smile.
"I will, I love you, big brother."
"I love you, little sister."
I put my phone down on the desk when there was a knock on my door. When I open it, there is no one there, but there is a bouquet of daisies lying in front of it. I pick it up, close the door behind me, and search for a note.
"I will always be able to get to you.
King."
Well, this isn't good.
