“Where the hell are you?” Colt asked as soon as I picked up his call.
“At Iris’ house, why? Is Severin okay?”
“My brother's fine. Your father pressed charges against him for assault. Detective Dash isn’t happy that you went against his orders.”
I rubbed my forehead. “That difficult old bat!”
Colt chuckled. “Dash said he’d make the charges go away.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, he knows it was a dumb move, and Severin got his due by having to spend more time in the hospital.”
“I need to speak to him. I think I may have something.”
“Need a ride to the police station?”
“Yeah… can we make a stop somewhere too?”
“This better not be something dumb.”
“It’s not, but it might not be the best move.”
I left while Iris was asleep. Colt picked me up from his motorbike.
