Chapter 2: The Escape

3040 Words
Allison sat at her make shift desk and wrote a letter to her family and the pack not caring who it hurt except for Jacob.  Jacob she understood his situation and didn't hate him for it because she knew that the pack would turn on him for siding with her.  She wrote a different letter to him a more of telling him that she understood and didn't hold it against him what so ever, she also told him that she hoped that he is happy and will continue to be happy with everything and that she loved him most of all.      It was just midnight and everybody was sleeping except for few border patrol members, which she knew she could get past because it was only five wolves at the time.  Rogues have left them alone at least for the time being which made the pack relax on their patrol.  Allison climbs out the window quietly and jumps to the ground landing on her feet quietly.  The goddess blessed her with stealth, which she was grateful for she started running towards the woods with her pack over one shoulder so that she would easily shift when the time is right.  She made it to the comfort of the trees of the forest and the pack territory was about ten miles away so she undressed and shifted into her wolf form.      Her wolf was a beautiful white wolf with blue eyes like she has in human for, which her wolf is rare and gave her some abilities as in speed stealth and she still has yet to figure out the rest because she has been unable to train or show off her wolf with pride.  Angie her wolf was at the for front because her wolf knew that Allison need to get away and in a hurry starts speeding to the end of the pack territory.  As soon as she was close to the end of the territory she turned back into human form so that it would make it easier for her to pass.  Hiding behind a bush to make sure it was safe and nobody was around she looked around and took in everything.  The scents to see if the patrol was close, the sounds so that she could sense any danger past the pack border, and the sights to look at the surroundings.      "Okay its now or never,"  Allison told herself, "if I don't do it now then I will never be able to because I would be locked away for ever or even worse killed.  She steps closer to the border and took a step out cutting all ties to the pack.  She looked back to the pack territory and didn't feel any remorse or sadness she was happy because she would no longer suffer at the hands of her so called pack or her family.  She shifts back into wolf form to speed away before she was seen by border patrol or even worse caught by rogues even though she was now one of them, but she heard terrible stories about them plus she still remember what happened to her brother.  She gets on the other side of the woods and before she came to the closest town to them she shifted back into human form and to her surprise she was clothed already.      "I need to find out what powers I have and why, but first I need to get as far as possible from the territory before they find me missing and come looking for me,"  Allison told herself.  People in town knew her so she didn't want to linger around the town so she hurried off to the nearest bus station.  She managed to save some money she earned from doing odd jobs around the town and saved up for 2 years so she had enough to suffice for the time being.      "May I help you,"  The bus clerk said, "Oh Allison what are you doing here at this time of night?"      "Shush, please keep it down,"  Allison replied quickly, "I need a bus ticket to any place, how about Boulder Colorado, and please if anybody comes asking don't say anything."      "Allison you are to young to travel by yourself especially at this time of night," the clerk replied.      "Please I need to do this and if you won't I will go to the next town and buy a ticket there,"  Allison stated annoyed.      "Yes well the bus will leave in thirty minutes,"  replied the clerk as he printed out the ticket.  "you look like your hungry here have a cheeseburger my wife made."      "Thank you how much do I owe you?"  Allison asked taking the cheeseburger.      "No charge you have done so much for me and my wife its a pleasure to help you with whatever you need,"  the clerk smiled and handed her the ticket.      "No I would like to pay because I know this will come out of your pocket and you need the money for your family,"  Allison stated in concern.      "No worries I am happy to help and the bus will be at gate 2," the clerk replied.      "Thank you, Maverick, I appreciate everything that you have done for me and maybe one day you will see me again,"  Allison smiled and walked away to a bench by gate 2.  Maverick looked at her with sympathy because he knew why she was leaving.  She didn't know but he always seen the bruises on her and he wanted to do something about it but couldn't.  All he could do is be a good friend and help her as much as he could.      Finally the bus departed at 2 am and she was on her way to Boulder Colorado.   She was nervous because she would be by herself, but she was relieved that she was away from her tormentors.  She started out the bus window watching the dark scenery pass by finally she dozed off.  "But mommy I am telling you the truth I didn't kill him,"  Allison dreaming, "Please mommy it was wolves I didn't know I wouldn't hurt Sebastian."  Allison screaming at her mom as her mom yelled and told her that she was worthless and useless.  Jumping up in her seat out of a dream she looked around to see she was pulling into New York for her first transfer.  The bus was not full, which made her happy and relieved because she was sure she was talking loudly almost screaming in her sleep.       The bus made it to the terminal and she grabbed her pack which was all she had anyway and made her way off the bus.  Looking around she noticed that it was huge and she had twenty minutes before her connecting bus left she stop and asked a worker for where the bus was.      "This bus will be at terminal 4 young lady," the guard looked at her kind of worried seeing she was young and was wondering where your family is, "are you alone young lady?"     "Don't worry about me and I don't have time to talk,"  Allison yells as she runs to where her next bus is to depart.  She arrives at the terminal door and sees she still has five minutes before boarding the bus.  Satisfied she opens her backpack and grabs a granola bar that she stuffed in her bag before she left.  Allison was hungry but she didn't have time to go get something from the cafe, but she didn't mind because she was used to the lack of food that she had.      She gets on the bus and heads all the way to the back of the bus where she is most comfortable and sits.  Opens up her granola bar and goes to take a bit.  "May I sit her young lady?"  a young gentle man with black military style cut hair his face had a gorgeous masculine but kind of pale face and thin red lips.  His body had 12 pack abs as she could see threw his white t shirt that fit snug against his torso with muscular arm that looked like he could lift the bus by himself.      Allison eyed him carefully, "Y-Yes go ahead."  Allison turns to the window and takes a bite of her granola bar and stares out as the rest of the passengers board the bus.      "My name is James," he told her, "may I have your name?"     "Allison, and please I would like to sit in silence please," she replied back and turned back to the window.      "As you wish my lady," James replied with a smirk on his face.  I will get to know you more he thought to himself.  The bus finally departs from the terminal and starts heading to Chicago her next transfer to get to Boulder.  "Is that all you are going to eat?"      "And that is my decision if I just want to eat a granola bar,"  Allison huffed in annoyance.      "You are to skinny here I have some snacks if you want just help yourself if you want to," James smiled and showed her his bag of snacks.       "No thank you I will get by on my own,"  Allison offers a small smile.  "Why is this guy talking to me I just want to be left alone why did he want to sit by me when there were plenty of other seats when he got on,"  Allison thought to herself.  Allison sat quietly staring out of the window at the scenery starting to doze off.  She tried hard not to because the bus was full and she knew what her dreams would be like and she didn't want to startle anybody by her screaming, but she finally surrendered to sleep. ***DREAM***      Allison is screaming and kneeling next her little brother Sebastian bloody and dead.  Her mother comes running out "What did you do,"  Her mother asks "It wasn't me mommy I just remember seeing wolves I have never seen and then I passed out and woke up to this."  Allison replies.  "Lies all lies your a worthless piece of s**t.  You are not my daughter,"   her mother replied, "but mommy I didn't do it I didn't do anything to him," Allison crying.  "But Mom...."  "enough of your lies." ****End Dream      "Wake up Allison, wake up,"  James nudging her concerned.  Allison wakes up in a start looks around people closest to her looking at her but soon looks away as she looked at them.  "Are you okay, Allison you can talk to me you know."      "I am fine and no I don't want to talk about it,"  Allison snapped a little mainly because of the dream and disturbing other passengers.      "It didn't seem like nothing Allison, but I am going to Colorado and I don't know how far you are going, but if you ever just want to talk I will listen it might help," James replied, "by the way I was just wondering why a beautiful young girl is doing traveling on a bus by herself there are creeps that come on the bus."      "Because I want to and I said I don't want to talk,"  Allison hissed in annoyance.      "Alright," James said under his breath.  James was a werewolf himself and smelled her wolf.  He noted that she was a young wolf as well.  He didn't know how young but young so he seemed to want to protect her.  He just needed to get her to trust him but he didn't know how.  They both sat in silence for a while but he had to find out how old she is.  "How old are you?"      "Why have a thing for young girls do you?"  Allison replied still a tone of annoyance.      "Just curious," James replied.      "I am 16 but I am not telling you anything else,"  Allison replied less irritated.  What is his deal this is so annoying hopefully I can get away from him at the next stop and sit somewhere else Allison thought to herself.       "We will be stopping in Buffalo, New York if you want to get off and stretch a little bit you have 10 minutes before we depart,"  the bus driver announces.      "Finally I can change seats and get way from this nosy guy, " Allison thought to herself.  Smiling she gets up to get off the bus and stretch a little bit.  Looking around she noticed James walked off somewhere.  I thought he was going to Colorado she thought to herself.  Shrugging her shoulders she boards back on the bus shortly after she sat in her regular spot thinking that he was not getting back in time he sits down next her.  Annoyed that he returned in time she stares back out the window.      "Her I bought you a cheeseburger, fries and drink,"  James said handing her the bag and keeps his own in the other hand.      "Why, did you buy that I didn't ask?,"  Allison asks astonished at his generosity, "Oh and thank you?"      "Because I wanted to and that was the most polite you have been towards me,"  James smirked, "besides a granola bar isn't going to sustain you for long if at all."      "I would have been okay with it, but thank you again,"  Allison replies after  gulping down a huge bite and blushes, "Sorry, I just haven't had much to eat in a while."      James chuckling at her, "its okay I had a feeling you were hungry, so why are you traveling alone and where are you headed?"      "Um,"  Allison hesitates and looks at him in the eyes seeing no malice in his dark warm brown eyes, "I uh ran way from home."      "Why was it so bad living with your pack?"  James asked with a c****d eyebrow.      "Shush there are mostly humans on the bus,"  Allison starts talking lower so no one could hear.  The sun was setting and started to get dark.  "And yes it was horrible and full of bad memories and people I want to get away from."      "What about your parents?"  James still concerned and wondering.      "My parents?"  Allison stares down at her half eaten burger and fries, "they um lets just say made it worse in the pack, the only person that didn't make it worse was my oldest brother."      "I am sorry to hear,"  James said in sympathy, "I can be your shoulder to cry on if you would like and you still didn't tell me where you are headed."      "I am headed to Colorado as well,"  Allison starting to warm up to him.  He seemed nice and it was nice to have a friend since it has been a while since she did have a friend.  "And thank you its nice to have a friend again.  I haven't had many if any since I was young."      "Well consider me a friend and I am from Colorado and I know my way around if you want me to show you around when we get there," James smiled as he knew that she was beginning to trust him, "and my pack is there I am sure that I can get them to welcome you into the pack."      Allison raises her eyebrows "Um I don't know about that, but for now lets just talk on the bus and part ways at the end of the line."      "Well considering you are 16 and I know the riff raft that rides the bus I will stick to your side make sure you are safe," James said smiling, "and how about if you get comfortable with me you meet the Alpha of my pack and decide from there, and you can share as much as you want in our conversation along the way."      "Okay that sounds nice,"  Allison beams a smile at him, "if I share something about me to you, you have to share things to me, so how old are you since you know my age?"      "I am 22," James chuckles at her, "and I am from the New Moon pack which is in the mountains of Colorado just outside of Boulder."     Allison scrunches at the idea of a pack where she was heading not knowing how to feel.  Her pack had been cruel and she didn't know much about other packs because of how they treated her, but that wasn't going to stop her she was going to stay away from any packs no matter where she lived.  "So whats your status in the pack?"      "Ah, but its your turn to share," James smirks as he is eyeing her he noticed a few bruises on her arms and he started getting irritated, but didn't show it off so not to scare her.  "So which pack are you from?"      "I do not want to divulge that information at this time,"  Allison hastially dismisses, "I just don't want them to find me."      James eyes her up and down and keeps noticing more bruises on her.  His his anger at the edge but him being an alpha he was able to control his anger.  "She is only 16," he thought to himself, "why would a pack and her parents allow this to happen?"  What did she do that was god aweful for them to hurt her?"  He has to keep an eye on her and convince her that she should live in his pack protected from any harm and finish school."  He kept thinking to himself as she nodded off to sleep.  James mind links to his beta to have a room ready for a guest and we will talk when he got back to the pack.      "How far way are you alpha?"  His beta mind links him back.      "Its going to be a few days I decided to take the bus to clear my mind and by the way gets some clothes for a 16 year old girl."      "What why whats going on."  His beta asks in concern.      "I don't know yet," James replies, "I am still getting information, but as I see it this girl needs help and a place to stay, and I am going to do that."      "Yes alpha I will make sure that everything is prepared for both of yours arrival," his beta Alex replies.
