He is tired of walking until he arrived at their meeting place. He roamed his eyes but there is no Carter.
"Carter! Carter! Where are you?!" he shouted, looking for him. He brushed his hair using his fingers and don't know what to do. It is getting dark, "Carter! Where the f*ck are you?"
"I am here! I'm sorry, I slept," he answered and gave him a fake smile. He knew that Eustas is annoyed by now.
He looked at where is the voice from. Eustas saw that he is from the other tree, he probably lay down above. He glared at him.
"What?! You are always late, so I slept for a while. I don't want myself to be bored." He yawned and walking towards him with the basket in his right hand.
"Yeah, whatever! Bad humans block my way, they made my head hot." He told him and harshly get the basket.
"What did you do to them? Don't tell me---," his eyes become round and pointed him with malicious glare, "Did you just sipped the blood of their body?" he asked.
"What are you saying? That we are a killer? We are not allowed to sip their bloods," he said while his forehead furrowed, "Why all of you stressing me out?" he sighed and sit.
"Including me?"
"Yeah." He slightly punched him in his shoulder.
"How was the both of you? 2 days left, and your ways will be separated," he asked and lean on the body of the tree beside Eustas.
"I think I can not live without her, Carter. Can I bring her home instead?" he did a facepalm and shake his head.
"Na-ah, you know you can't. Relax, Eustas. You and her need to go home. How about her family? Do you think they are not worried about her not going home for almost a month?" he stated. He wanted to make them realize that they should go back, "The most important thing is you have to train yourself, Coronation is coming. You will become the next Emperor." He added and pat his shoulder.
He messed his hair, "Yeah, I think we need to do our obligations in our family, but how could I let her go?" he asked him like Carter know what is the answer.
"Do you think I know? You are the one who can answer that! Damn it!" he yelled and crossed his arms. Eustas is being naughty.
"What should I do then? Visit her?" he asked again.
They looked at each other after he said it.
"Yeah, we can borrow the Emperor's horses." He is raising his brows up and down while smiling from ear to ear like it is the best idea, "But you still need to do your task, you will be the next Emperor and our clan knew it. Talk to your father about it."
"Yes, I will. Meet me in two 2 days here, noontime. Let's walk her until the boundary of the forest and way home." He stopped talking and stared at him, "I want her to be home safe."
"Okay, master. You are being my master, you are just my best friend! But you treat me as your slave, asshole!" he shouted and acted hurt in his heart while he held it jokingly.
"I am not an asshole, you are. Why are sleeping above the tree? What if you will fall?"
His face lights up and lets out a small laugh. He says, "Then I will fly. I'll become a bat." He moves his both hand up down like it is a wing that can help him fly.
"How can you fly? You don't have wings asshole! Really? Can you transform now then?" he asked trying him. Vampires and bat are different, it is not true that they can change into a bat.
"Just kidding, you are so serious!"
"Am I? I am not. I am worried about you sleeping above the tree." He pushes Carter's forehead using his index finger.
A gigantic grin spread across Carter's face and felt flushed with happiness, "Aw! You are indeed my best friend, Eustas." He was about to hug him when Eustas step backward and cover him using his hands.
"Stop that! You are being cheesy. How is the kingdom?"
He stopped annoying him and made a serious face. "Kingdom is fine, nothing changes."
"How about father? Did you saw him?"
Carter shut his mouth thinking if he will tell him what he heard about him.
"Hey, Carter!" he snapped him using the ignition of his fingers in front of his face.
He gets back to his senses and says, "I heard something about you."
His brows lifted, "What is it?" he asked nervously. He didn't like when people are talking about him. That is nonsense talking about other people's lives.
"Your mate is Moscov's daughter and the worst is one of the vampires said that they have seen them, the whole family in the palace," he stopped and nibbled his side lips. He didn't want to make him upset when he got home.
He waited for him to continue what he was saying, "And then what? Continue...I wanna hear it."
"Ahhmm...They said they are talking about you and her wedding," he finishes what he said and closed his eyes waiting for him to explode but he noticed that Eustas remained silent so he opened his eyes again.
"You are not mad?" he asked and look at him closely like one inch apart. He touched his nose to tease him, usually, Eustas will get mad but he is just silent, "Are you sure?"
"I am not mad, I will make it clear once I get back and face them," he seriously answered. There is no need to be angry. He lived happily and his dreams are now in his arms.
"I am now amazed at that woman, huh? I wanna know her." He winked.
"She is amazing and beautiful."
"Really? Does she have a sister? So I can make her mine too." His under-eye lifted when he smiles.
"She is only one, she was born for me." He answered in bored tone.
"I still didn't feel my mate, how long will I wait?" he asked.
"Why are you asking me? Do you think I know when?" he rolled his eyes and in a second Carter's palm touched the back of his head, "Ouch!"
"When did you become a philosopher? Hmmm?"
"How dare you hit your Emperor, Carter!" he yelled while holding his head.
"I am your best friend, I can s***k you whenever I want." His side lips lifted.
"Damn you!"
Carter's laugh echoed all over their place. He was just kidding, so Eustas kicked his foot.
He is jumping with one leg, "Ouch! Ouch! That's hurt! Damn it, Eustas!"
And now it is Eustas turned to laugh at him.
"Looks like the happy best friends are here." Someone spoke.
Their faces turn right and saw who's been talking.
"Dylan," he called him shocked.
