After Eustas packed their things. The place where they set up their tent looks empty. He roamed his sight and saw Helliana beside the river letting her feet touched the cold water.
He walks towards her and says, "Are you ready?" he kneeled down. Caresses her shoulder and kisses it.
She faces him and smiles, "Yeah, are we going now?"
He nodded and held her hands, "We have to walk when it is still daylight." He helps her stand up. "Where are your shoes? You can't walk barefoot."
He is looking for it when Helliana spoke.
"Here," she answered and let him saw it in her hand.
He grabbed it and kneeled down.
"What are you doing?" she asked, her eyes widened when Eustas hold her foot.
"I will be the one who will wear this for you."
"No," Helliana stopped him but he is persistent to wear it in her foot.
"Let me do this, baby. It is my pleasure."
When he was finally done doing it he smiled and stand up, "Did I did it well? Your shoelaces?"
Helliana's cheeks reddened when she saw that is tied neatly, "Yeah---yeah, you did it well than mine." Beta's are the ones who made her shoelaces tie, she didn't know it well.
He received a smacked kiss on her lips, "You are blushing, Helliana."
She was about to touch her cheeks when Eustas pulled her hand.
"Let's go, baby. We should not waste time, we still have to meet someone."
"Someone? Who, Eustas?" she asked. Her heart started to pump fast, and feel a lump in her throat. She waited for him to answer her but Eustas hand her the bag.
"Are you alright with yours? Is that overweight or what?" he asked too.
She shook her head, "No, I can bring this besides I have worn this how many days," she answered.
"That's good, then."
"Who are we meeting? Why are you not answering me?" she pouted her lips and wear the backpack in her bag.
He holds her hands and smile, "Why are you so upset, baby? You will know later." He winked, "So, can we go now? Ah-no, I have to do this first."
In minutes, Eustas kissed her passionately. He let go and fixed her hair.
"I love you, my beautiful mate."
"Why are you so unpredictable? You are doing things that I am not expecting," she replied and roll her eyes even if it brings the light inside her.
"Because I am unpredictable, baby. But for now, we need to go before I changed my mind and ripped all your clothes," he roughly said and shake his head.
"Eustas!"
He laughed and started to pull her to walk, "I am sorry, I love you. That is what I felt when I am with you," he frankly said to her.
She felt her face burning, they feel the same but she is stopping herself.
They went up walking holding each other's hand for more than 20 minutes. They both full sweat because of the run raised.
"Do you wanna rest? I am not getting easily tired, so, you might be tired."
They stopped walking and deeply breath in and out. Seriously talking, Helliana was still not tired of their long walks but she needed to act like a human.
"I am just a little bit tired," she gave him an assurance smile, "Do you want to drink water?" she asked him.
Eustas is just looking at her face intently.
"What's the problem?" she asked.
After a minute, Eustas moved his hands and touching her forehead, wipe the sweats that are falling.
She suddenly froze for a moment staring at her handsome face that she will miss for sure. She can feel his fingers in her forehead and backhand while wiping down to her cheeks.
He spoke, "Whatever face you had, sweaty or not, grumpy or sad, why do you have to be that beautiful, baby?"
"And why do you have to be that man? Speaking and telling me flowery words?"
"Because I feel like saying things like that, that are from my heart, the way I feel...here, drink up." He gave her the bottle of water. He is faster to change the topic.
"No, you should drink that first, Eustas." She pushed the bottle towards him.
"No, Helliana. I am not thirsty, I drank too much blood from you, you should recharge, okay?" he said softly and touch her chin.
"Okay fine, even if I have my own bottle of water." She silently laughed and shake her head.
They started to walk and climb in riffs. They sometimes stop to rest and continue. The routine was like that until they reach the place where Eustas meeting his friend.
"We are here, this is the main way," he said.
"Okay, so where is th-----ahhh!" she screamed when something jumps in front of her. She closed her eyes and covers her face with her hands.
"I am here!"
"Carter! You startled her!" Eustas shouted at him with like almost his brows meet, "Helliana, hey... Are you okay?" he asked and shakes her shoulders, "He is my friend."
Helliana slowly opened her eyes and put down her hands. Now she knows why her dad shouting when she is startling him and how does it feel.
She stared at him but only his eyes are she can see.
"Why are you so cover-up? Are you vampire too?"
"Yeah,"
"Yeah,"
Eustas and Carter said in unison.
"I can not walk in daylight just like your mate, so, yes I am. I need to cover my whole body just to go for him an----," he didn't finish what he was going to say because Eustas covered her mouth.
"Anyway, baby, this is my friend,"
"Corrections, best friend and slave."
Helliana's right brows raised to him.
"No, of course not. Slave, you punk! But yeah he is my BEST friend."
Helliana doesn't know where she wanna look because they are now arguing in front of her.
"I didn't save you, you are ruining my image to her," he said and gritted his teeth.
Carter looked at her shock, "Yes, you were! You are commanding things in me, even wiping your poop." He said jokingly but he can not joke with the next Emperor of Vampires.
Eustas punched him in the face in not too strong.
Helliana's jaw dropped wide. Her eyes also went circle on what Eustas did but Carter just laughed.
"Now, you see how he will get angry., Carter said and winked at Helliana.
She can't believe it, Eustas just punched his best friend.
"A---are you okay?" she asked Carter.
"Yeah, of course. That's how we greet each other. We should go now, Eustas."
"Damn you! Why do you have to do that? You never wiped my poop, asshole."
"Yeah, I did."
Carter walked first while his arms behind his head.
"Why did you punch him?" she whispered while holding his hand.
"He annoyed me, Helliana. And worst in from of you."
He made a grumpy face.
"Just like that? He is your best friend."
"Yeah, I am sorry, I did that in front of you."
"Then you will gonna do again in my back?" she asked.
"Yes, Helliana. For sure, Eustas will do that again." Carter replied.
Her eyes narrowed, "Eustas!"
"Carter! What are you saying?!" he shouted.
"Eustas!" she called him again.
"Yeah, I will not do that."
"Promise me,"
"I promise." He promised even he wanna punch his friends who are laughing in front of them. The irritation inside him but he needed to be calm.
"Stop killing me with your eyes, Eustas," Carter said.
"Eustas!" she stopped him.
"Calm down, Eustas. Calm down," he whispered.
Helliana nibbled her lower lips when she heard what Eustas whispered. She intersects their fingers and smile.
"I love you, Eustas."
Eustas body froze for a while and walk again.
"Eustas, I love you," she said.
For the second time, he stopped and look at Helliana smiling. He smiled too and started to walk again.
Helliana's forehead crease, "Are listening?" she asked.
"I am listening, why so?"
"Nothing, you ruined the moment." She said and walk silently.
"What did I do again? That I never know? What's with your face?" he inquired.
"Helliana, talk to me."
"Helliana," he called her again.
"Stop, Eustas. I will tell you later, you already ruined the moment. It will not sound sweet or what." She rolled her eyes while looking away.
Eustas laughed and kissed her cheeks, "Such a cutie, I love you so much."
Carter fake a coughed, "Will you please respect a single here?" he yelled.
"Whatever, Carter!" he replied.
"I love you too." She said to him.
He stared at her blankly, he couldn't digest what he heard. How many times he heard it earlier but he thinks it is just in his mind.
"Eustas, I love you too!" she said loud and clear.
He felt that the blood running to his veins went to his eyes and slowly welled.
"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Carter! Did you hear that?" he asked amazingly and surprisingly.
"No!" Carter made a face.
"She said she loves me too! Carter!"
He didn't know what to do and lastly, he hugged her tight.
"Can you say it again? Please?" he whispered.
"I love you, Eustas. I really do." She buried her face in his chest.
"What are you doing? Can we just walk? We are kilometers away and my feet are getting tired." Carter complaints.
"Insecure, you don't have a mate." He teased him.
"Whatever you say, asshole. You have much debt on me remember that," he said pointing him using his index finger.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yes, surely."
