Blue Eyes
A week after the meeting with her supervisor, Susanna was moved from her dormitory to another facility in the compound made up of individual cells. No roommates and even less contact with the women housed in the same unit. Little chance for eye contact, that emotional bond she argued for with the supervisor. Was this punishment, or what? She spent days trying to understand the reason for the move. Perhaps, a willingness to draw attention to herself was reason enough to be put in a solitary cell.
She was removed from the factory job as well, which was no great loss to her. In fact, she was soon glad about the change. She now worked in food processing, given a number of chores depending on the day and the need. Her work was not nearly as mind-numbing as the factor
