Dancing On The Edge
The week following Paige’s encounter with the Overseer passed without incident. Victoria still commanded her oral service, but she was only twice in the office when Paige was on the floor cleaning. And there was not a sign of the Overseer; his office door remained locked.
Had she dodged a bullet? Would her revelations to the man remain between them, and perhaps forgotten? Or was she still at risk of being accused of making up lies about the Message Director? The questions set her on edge, making every moment fraught with worry...at least in the back of her mind.
