August 2nd
I finished changing out of my dress into some jeans and a t-shirt seconds before there was a knock at my bedroom door. Figuring it was Sam, I didn’t bother to ask before flinging it open, only for Banner to barge past me.
My heart pounded even as I shut the door and turned around to face him, no idea what to say. After a few moments where we stood staring at one another saying nothing, I lifted my chin in defiance as my body quivered with anticipation. “What do you want?”
He smiled, but his eyes weren’t happy. They gleamed with an emotion I didn’t dare examine as he replied with a simple, “You.”
“Banner.” I laughed, incredulous, and pointed out the window. “Did you not just see me marry Sam?”
