First and last

3rd Person POV It's been 10 years after Nathan became an advanced practice registered nurse (APRNs) and move here in Singapore where he got a stable job. Nathan lays down on his bed as he finally finished a busy day in the hospital where he worked. The 27 year old man was always busy but not as busy as today's. Nathan's POV He closes his eyes for a minute before he remembers something that happened earlier that day. He had just received an update from his superior that they will transfer him to the other branch of the hospital because they lack nurses. He knows that the other branch is going to be more than a challenge for him especially since it's in the main city and all the staffs there are new to him but can't do anything except to accept it. As much as he didn't want to leave his team behind, he knew it is time to make a change if he wants to stay alive. "Hey Nate, you up? I know your shift ended like an hour ago" A young voice shouts through the door . "I just got home of course I'm awake." He grumbled back. A few seconds later,Jayden, his friend comes into his room carrying two plates with a glass bottle of water on one and a plate full of food with a small bowl of rice. "You can sleep later. I don' think you'll find any more patients today. I dont want my patient dying from starvation!" Jayden jokes before placing the food onto his bedroom table. "You look tired so eat. We'll need you to be healthy if we're gonna keep working together." Jayden said "What do you mean keep working together?" he sighed. "I got assigned in the other branch, I'm going to move there next month" he said. "Oh, manager didn't informed you? I also got transferred." Jayden chuckles softly before sitting down on the table and started eating. "What are you waiting for?" Jayden asked. "Let's eat,I know you're hungry." Jayden added. He sighs as he stood up from his bed sat down at the table, took the other plate and eats quietly without looking his friend. After finishing their meal, Jayden said goodbye while he went to the kitchen and wash the dishes. After that, he then take a bath After everything was done,he walks back to his room and lays down on his bed. He takes his phone from his bedroom table and goes to i********: and starts scrolling through his feed. Suddenly,a picture of girl that's celebrating her birthday pops out and his mind immediately get reminded who she was and the ast time they saw eachother. The girl was Elise Martinez, he met him in high school when she transferred to their school. She was his first love and he fell from the moment he lay his eyes on her. She was perfect, smart, funny and beautiful. Who wouldn't loved her. But he he thought wasn't worthy of someone like her so he decided to let it go even though everytime he see her he feels his heart beating fast and feel this weird sensation whenever he talk to her. Everytime she smile at him or when she laugh he feels his body tingling with excitement. Now,it was almost fifteen years later and he has thought what's happening with her. The boy shakes off his thoughts before looking at the clock that reads 9 pm and he should already be asleep. He put his phone on night stand next to his side. With a last glance towards the photo,the boy closes his eyes and slowly drifting off to dreamland. ---------- When the sunrays hit his face, he immediately groans and cover his face with blanket. He turn around and bury himself deeper into his pillow. The sun ray suddenly turns brighter and hits his face again and he flinch as he sits up straight. "Damn it!" he cursed before standing up and walk to bathroom to take a shower. After his shower,he walked back to his bedroom and grab his clothes to put it on.He puts on his scrubs, grabbed his car keys and his coat to leave the house. Once outside,he start his car and drive away from the neighborhood. Once he gets to the office, he park his car and quickly enter to open the door. As soon as he steps inside,he greet the workers before grabbing a cup of coffee and sit on his seat and open his laptop. It was the same routine everytime. Elise's POV The morning had been long and grueling for her. As much as she wanted to just go about her day without a care, it appeared like things were never going to be that simple when it came the life of a Doctor .So with one final sigh, she rolled out of bed and stumbled towards the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror, trying to will some energy into her face and failing miserably. “Come on… You can do this…” She muttered to herself before stepping into the shower. The warm water did wonders to help her body wake up but didn't quite ease all of her worries. She took a deep breath before turning off the faucet and stepping out. She dried herself off with a towel and then walked back out into her room. Her eyes fell upon her wardrobe, she sighed again – another thing that wouldn't be easy. What would it hurt to try? With a sigh and a shrug, she began rummaging through the clothes until she found a pair of black pants, a white blouse and her doctor’s white coat. After dressing herself and applying some makeup, she felt like maybe a little bit of luck was going to run its course today after all. With an exaggerated grin plastered on her face, she grabbed her bag, keys, stethoscope, and phone, before heading out of her room, ready to face the world again. --------- She was walking towards the cafeteria for lunch when she heard someone calling her name from behind her. "Doctor!" A familiar voice called her name and she stopped dead in her tracks. A smile slowly stretched across her face. It's been too long since I've seen you! With a skip in her step, she turned around and met the worried eyes of her best friend. "Brianna! What are you doing here?" She asked happily.Brianna gave her a slight wave with one hand. "I was hoping we could catch lunch, but it looks like you're already late." Bri said, glancing at her watch, "I guess we should get going if we want to make it on time!"With a nod, they continued walking down the hallway together to the cafeteria. They got their meals and sat down by themselves at a table by the window. As soon as they both sat down, Brianna took the initiative of starting the conversation. "How have you been, Doctor?" She looked across the table at her friend who was looking at her expectantly. "Oh you know, same old, same old!" She replied nonchalantly and smiled. Brianna narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "You don't look like you're getting enough sleep…"She chuckled nervously and scratched the back of her head. "No no… It's nothing like that… I'm just so busy…" She responded, waving it away with her hand. Brianna only hummed in response and let out a knowing smile. "Well what else is new?" She finally answered and raised her eyebrows.Her friend seemed skeptical but decided not to push the subject any further. "Right anyway how've you been, Brianna?" She asked and gestured towards her friend's sandwich. "Same old, same old!" her friend answered with a small grin and pushed the plate towards her. They started eating in comfortable silence until Brianna piped up again. "Hey, Lis…" She looked up from her food. "Yeah?" "Remember that Kpop group you stan?Treasure" Bri asked and leaned back in her chair. "Of course, what about them? She asked. "I haven't got time to see their update this past months, I was very busy" she added. Brianna laughed and shook her head, taking another bite of her food. "Well I think you'll like this one." Bri said. "They're having a world tour and Singapore is one of the places." Bri added. Her' eyes widened. "Seriously?!" She exclaimed excitedly. "Yep," Brianna affirmed and finished her mouthful. "We should totally come along! I mean, if you're not busy that time. I know you haven't got a chance to go to their concert. This is your chance!" Bri added quickly. She nodded excitedly at her friend's words. "Okay yes, we should absolutely go!" She exclaimed enthusiastically. "When is it?" She asked eagerly, trying not to appear overeager. She needed to calm down or people might start to get the wrong idea. She had been a fan of Treasure since their debut as a Kpop group.She witnessed how her beloved Treasure grew popular. Brianna thought for a moment. "As far as I know, their schedule here is March 1 at the National Stadium." She replied with a chuckle. "I can't wait," she whispered. "Please do me a favor, can you buy the tickets for me? I'm not sure if I got time for ticket buying and I know it will be sold out fast." she added. Brianna nodded in agreement, "Of course I will, don't worry! I'm guessing you want the VVIP?" Bri asked grinning. She nodded once more, "You got it." "Alright, you go ahead you're gonna be late while I finish my shift. Once the ticket selling is on, I will get your ticket." Brianna said reassuringly. She thanked her and stood up to leave.
