12 Nick was trying his best not to toss and turn the way he usually did, but he just couldn’t settle into sleep. It was past midnight, and he was wired. Too many thoughts churning in his brain, too many impressions and questions and embarrassing memories popping up, forcing him to run hot and cold and hot again. Next to him, Dex was still, his breath steady. Nick ran a hand over his forehead, turned onto his side, closed his eyes again.
