Chapter 12

Yeah! A momentary lapse of reaction, cause very next moment I have water dripping off my face and the people in front don’t seem to care about the fact that I’m their senior. It takes a moment for me to register what’s going on around me. Two girls, one was Kyla and the other one was a model I recognized from the practices, were rambling curses at each other! I wiped off the water using some tissues, careful not to smudge anything. “f**k off you b***h! Don’t you dare teach me my work!” the model snarled. “You can’t even keep your hands upto yourself and you talk about work! Slutty b***h!” Kyla shouted and threw a pen she was holding at her. “How dare you call me a slutty b***h? You are- you’re a torment then!” the model retorted and dogged the flying device off. They continue their rambling, occasionally throwing random things at each other. Most of the office had gathered around them, to witness the epic battle. Some of them were dodging those things every now and then. Come on Ivy! It’s hilarious! How are you controlling your laughter? Shut up mini-me. I can’t laugh in front of everyone. I said and dogged another glass of water that had missed Kyla. The next moment, they both were ripping each others’ scalp off.  Everyone burst in laughter and the office was now a frenzied mess. My eyes unknowingly set on Trish who was standing away from the chaos and was looking worried. His gaze was fixated on the wrestlers in the arena. He must be worried about Richard’s reaction on this. Oh crap! I need to stop this frenzy. Before I could say a word the trouble had arrived, “What’s going on here?” There was pin-drop silence. The buffoons had unchained themselves from each other. “Will anyone care to explain, why is everyone out of their desks? I believe we have an important project incoming!” Everyone had their heads down in shame. “Everyone to work! NOW!” he shouted. “Ms. Makrow, in my office!” he hissed angrily. “And you two,” he added pointing at the culprits, “both of you are fired. Don’t even try to argue.” You are so dead, Ivy. I face-palmed myself in an attempt to calm down. I’ve got hell to pay. Everyone dispersed. I started my journey to the monster’s den. I stopped outside his office. I took deep breath and prepared myself for the tornado that was about to hit me any moment now. You haven’t done anything wrong, Ivy. It was my subconscious mind. I know, but still… My palms started sweating. I pulled of a courageous look and knocked twice. I haven’t done anything wrong. I kept reminding myself. There was no response from the other end. I was about to knock again when there was noise from inside, a loud thud. I hurried inside closing the door behind me. My eyes were almost out of their socket at view in front of me.
