Things weren’t on their usual place. The pen holder and files were lying all over the floor. Water was spilled on the table. Chairs weren’t on their usual place.
I took a slow step ahead, my eyes searching Rihaan.
“Sir?” I said nervously.
Rihaan please be fine. I prayed.
I reached his table. I looked around for any trace of him. I slowly started walking around the table, my fingers gliding on the smooth surface.
I was growing impatient with each passing moment.
I had just crossed the corner of his table when someone’s hand came in view. I froze. My feet were about to give their way. My heart pounded loudly in my chest. A similar feeling enveloped me. This can’t be happening. I can’t face this again. There was piercing feeling in my chest.
I bent over to him. He was lying there on his stomach, motionless. Tears started flowing down my cheeks. This can’t be happening again. I can’t handle this again.
“Rihaan,” my voice came out hoarse, almost a whisper.
I shook him slightly, turning him over.
“Rihaan,” this time a bit loudly. I shook him fiercely this time,
“Rihaan, wake up! I can’t loose you again! Please wake up!” I shouted pleadingly, shaking him continuously.
My brain had stopped working. I had no clue what to do. History was repeating itself.
Ivy, you can’t let go of him again. I heard a faint voice addressing me. It was like a wake-up call.
I quickly got to my feet. Hurriedly I picked up the glass through which the water was spilled. There was still some of it left. I sprinkled some on his face and shook him fiercely.
“Rihaaaaannnn!” I shouted repeating the process.
He creased his eyebrows a bit. He was regaining his consciousness.
“Thank god you are okay!” I said, more to myself. I hugged him tightly. Tears refused to stop for even a second.
“Ivy?” I heard him say, it was barely a whisper.
“I’m here,” was all I could say. I sighed with relief.
“I can’t breathe,” he said tapping my shoulder slightly. It was then I realized I was holding him, too tightly.
I let him go, suddenly feeling embarrassed.
Ivy, this isn’t the first time you’ve hugged him. My mind tried to reason out.
It’s been a long time mini-me. I said sadly.
Rihaan looked sexy even in his worn-out state. His hair were messed up. His tie was hanging loose from his neck. He wasn’t wearing his blazer. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up. I wish I could kiss those perfectly shaped lips once again.
I wish you could love me, once again. I wish!
He slowly sat up and closed his eyes. I slowly touched his arm.
“Are you ok?” I asked slowly.
He just nodded in response. He opened in eyes to meet mine. They portrayed an emotion which I couldn’t quite recognize. It was like he was searching for something, something familiar.
We sat there for god knows how many minutes, lost in each other.
Our trance was broken by a brief knock on the door.
