Chapter 3

"Ni xue zhongwen le ma?" "Wo xue le" "ta dao xue zhongwen duo jiu le?" "yi nian le" "You're so cool!" Dae-oppa shook me frantically as I talk with Zi-ge while Jong-oppa just kept laughing in the background. Even Yi-ge clapped at me in his I-never-knew-you-could-talk-in-Mandarin-so-well look. I just gave him a wink and he understood that I like to keep things about me private as usual. After the Li cousins took me out shopping, we went straight to this party. I would be meeting Yi-ge's friends so Hun-oppa gave me a long lesson for proper etiquette and fashion. I don't look like it but I know exactly how to act like a lady in a social gathering. I just let Hun-oppa have his spotlight because he knows his friends better than I do and its much better that I get a brief overview of their background. I was actually invited by Yi-ge to attend the bachelor party of one of his friend. He didn't mention who but I have a feeling who. I heard it's one of the Xi brothers and Yi-ge plans to make him jealous because as I've heard, he'll be turning 30 soon and he still doesn't have any girlfriend. Sounds like a devoted catholic but why me? I'm sure Yi-ge loves to make fun of the poor guy. But how about me? I don't have any boyfriend (except this deal of acting as his girlfriend) and even though I find guys hot and girls sexy, I feel i differenteven if I stare at them. Maybe it's that. Maybe almost all the girls Yi-ge had just went gaga over him and his friends. What do you expect? Yi-ge's already perfect. Try being his girl and be surrounded by these hot, awesome, and handsome people and you'll get what I mean. Yi-ge pat me at the back and complimented me for my Mandarin. "Ta de zhongwen shuo de hen hao" I said and he burst out laughing. My memories are a little bit messy and I mentally slapped myself. I forgot that Zi-ge is actually Chinese and here I am complimenting him for his Mandarin. That was so childish of me to say a native speaks their own language very well. Zi-ge, known for his full name as Hua Zi, is a famous action star and rapper. He owns his own studio like Yi-ge does. I watched all of his movies and never would I thought I'd meet the real Hua Zi in the flesh. It was such an honor. I just don't show it because it would be too out of character for me and I know Yi-ge will tease me nonstop for this if he knew I'm a huge fan. Plus, There's also the Xi brothers. Xi Dae and Xi Jong.  The Xi brothers are koreans and Dae-oppa is a very hyper person like Han-oppa. He's a singer and he's very famous both local and international. His vlog has millions of views and I wish I could sing and be famous like him. But I have no guts to stand on stage and sing while dancing in front of so many people. Then there's the youngest of the Xi brothers, Jong-oppa. Unlike the others who worked in the entertainment field, Jong-oppa worked as a private detective and investigator. He's the friend that Yi-ge asked to collect information about me. There's no hard feelings for Jong-oppa for trying to pry into my personal life. He's just simply doing his job and I understand that. I haven't met the second eldest, Xi Jun yet, but I heard he's the kindest and most patient among the brothers. I heard that he's a very caring gentleman with a generous heart. I also heard that he helped many charities. However, what makes me curious is the eldest. I heard that he's entirely different from his brothers. All I got is that Xi Min is a genius and the next CEO of their company. And that's it! Even Yi-ge and company are very quiet about him. There's very limited information about the Xi brothers. But what do you expect? They're heirs. Everything about their personal life is kept private to avoid getting into any issue. I'm just glad that Yi-ge trust me enough to get into his inner circle despite being a commoner. "I don't think you're a commoner" I was startled when a rather tall man, around Han-oppa's height, stood beside me "Ni ye hui chang hua yu ge ma?" "Hui chang ji shou" "Ni de zhongwen shuo de hen hao" I laughed when I remembered what I told Yi-ge a while ago about complimenting a Native Chinese Speaker in speaking their own native tongue so well. "Jo nun Wu. Yindi dee tai ru jak krab" he smiled and I almost squeal. He's Wu Yi! THE Wu Yi! The famous astronomer, physicist, and multilingual Dr. Wun Yi! I've read his research journals and articles both in English and Mandarin. I understand a few Korean words and I don't speak Cantonese but who cares! It's such an honor to meet him in person! He's so handsome and I almost feel lovestruck. But I composed myself and didn't show it. I have to calm myself down. Love and relationship is just a distraction to my path to success. Erase, erase! This not love. We talked for a while about history, politics, science, and technology, and so much more. I'm having fun with this group. Just like Yi-ge, everyone could relate to where I'm coming from. I talk too deep and I admit that I'm actually a nerd deep inside. So majority of everything I talk about are intellectual topics which is why only a few could relate to me. But here, everyone does. I love it and for the first time, I feel like I actually belong. We talk a bit more until the door opened. The music stopped and everyone was suddenly quiet. Was it me or the air suddenly get a bit colder? But what caught my attention is the man who emerged from the open double doors. His piercing eyes sent shivers down my spine and my instincts tell me that this man is dangerous. I tried to break our eye contact with the man and decided to distract myself from other things. However, I couldn't help but notice his slightly opened shirt and what is it... is that blood...?? He approached the place where Wu-ge and I stand and ordered whiskey from the bartender. It suddenly felt colder... like suddenly freezing cold... and I felt like turning small from his presence. I got the fair scent of the same metallic smell of blood from his scent. I know that because I always smell that when I was still working as a Hematologist. And judging from the atmosphere, I can tell that this man is someone you shouldn't mess around with. "Welcome back, Min-hyung!" Dae-oppa smiled as if the freezing cold and the heavy atmosphere didn't bother him...
