Like all Medieval towns she recognized from several movies, Sheila Marie notices that the town was a dirty place. The aromas and stenches of the marketplace alternate and confuse her senses. The muddy, dirty cobblestone roads lead away to the countryside. Paths, not roads, leads onward, rocks were a constant diversion for her eyes and feet.
