Chapter 1
/Andria POV
“Alpha Andria Alpha Andria!” Spoke a voice through mind link catching my attention and pulling me away from my work “Yes how can I help you.” I asked through the mind link “You have received mail from an alpha of a neighboring pack.” Said the voice and I sighed
“Bring it here,” I responded and put my pen down. I was currently mapping out the new border for my pack having just won a war with a neighboring pack. In the spoils, we were able to gain some of their territory as well as a large amount of funds that would elevate our pack even further.
To think we who was never meant to be an alpha ends up being if not the best alpha. it’s so funny the way the world works. Said my wolf making me chuckle.
My wolf’s name was Silver and she was a brown and black wolf with yellow eyes and she was quite the sassy thing. I remembered the times when I was a rouge and on my own, she would comfort me by telling me jokes and always lightening the mood with her subtle sass.
Hearing the door open I look up from the large map on my desk and see one of my packs betas Jeremiah. He had chestnut brown hair slicked back with a tad too much jell, olive skin, and grey eyes. He stood at a staggering six two had broad shoulders and was buff from his shoulders to his legs
It was too bad the man didn’t know how to fight to save his life and was more of a pacifist always wanting to be on defense than offense because he would’ve made an excellent soldier.
But he makes an even better assistant.
“Alpha.” He nodded his head quickly and then handed me the envelope “Do you know where it’s from.” I take the envelope a reach for a small knife I keep in my drawer to open letters “From the insignia I believe it to be from the silver wings pack but I could be mistaken and if so it must be from the nightshade pack.”
Opening the letter I took out the folded piece of paper and unfolded it. quickly I skimmed through the letter and chuckled “Right again it’s from the silver wings pack” Jeremiah smirked and crossed his arm a smug look covered his face.
I could practically hear his wolf Malcom going on and on about how amazing he was at his job. And there was no one better than him.
That’s because he is said my wolf raising a small chuckle out of me “By the way what does the letter say” asked Jeremiah “Oh uhm it’s an invitation to their son's eighteenth birthday party.” I hand Jeremiah the letter and he takes it “The festivities are going to last for three days and three nights which seems like a lot for just one birthday.”
Jeremiah scoffed “A pup's eighteenth birthday is not just any day it’s the day when they meet their wolves and shift for the first time. And for the future alpha of a pack that’s a pretty big deal.” Jeremiah sighed and put the letter down on the table.
“God how I had wished to experience something like that.” Jeremiah chuckled sadly and I could tell he was on the verge of tears.
Jeremiah was the youngest son of his old pack alpha who had already had four sons before him. They had all turned out to be strong warriors who could fight for the glory and honor of their pack but Jeremiah. Despite being built like the perfect soldier hated fighting and instead spent his days reading and his father didn't like that.
So he tried to force Jeremiah into liking fighting and war because that's what he was supposed to quote on quote like. But when it was obvious he didn't want that life when he turned eighteen he was expelled from the pack and had to shift all by himself in the woods.
I remember how he told me after his first s**t he sat in the woods all alone and howled up to the moon for many nights in pain. That was when I decided I was going to make my pack so people like Jeremiah wouldn't be kicked out because he didn't fit the mold that was expected of him.
Here at my pack, everyone is accepted whether they are wolfless, disabled, or just don't fit the predetermined mold
“Hey, how would you like to come along with me? Knowing me I could use someone with a brain like yours to help me get through such an important event.” Jeremiah gasped “I’d be delighted to attend such an important event with my alpha.”
I rolled my eyes and returned my attention to the map on my table “Do you think this is enough or should we take more.” I asked Jeremiah to point at the newly drawn-out border.
Jeremiah picked up the pen and went a tad more inward into our neighbor’s territory. A smirk grew onto my face “As winners we should take all the spoils we can get.” Said Jeremiah with a sly look on his face.
It was the next day and I was readying myself to leave the pack. I had packed a few outfits that were mainly suits, some paperwork for me to do in my free time, the usual trip necessary such as my toothbrush, hair brush, razor you know the deal.
Leaving in charge while I was gone were the other two betas of the pack beta Layla and beta Alex. They were my closest friends and I trusted them with my own life so I knew I had nothing to worry about. And I had finished most of the pressing matters that needed to be done so all they needed to do was to make sure the pack didn’t implode on itself.
“Alpha the limo is prepared for departure.” Said one of my pack soldiers through mind-link “Thank you I’ll be right there.” I responded and grabbed my suitcase and took one last look in the mirror. I looked completely different compared to how I used to look seven years ago.
I was a lot taller no longer 5’5 but now 5’10. I had gained broad shoulders and a more alpha-like physic which made sense seeing as how I became an alpha. I had long black hair that cascaded down my back and almost reached my waist, and I had bright green eyes that would often flash yellow whenever my wolf would start to take over me.
I was dressed white in a long-sleeved button-up shirt that was tucked into a pair of black dress pants that fit me perfectly. I had planned to wear it with a black blazer but it was currently way too hot in the territory for me to wear it right now so I just planned to bring it with me and when we arrived in the silver wings pack which was located in a cooler region I’d wear it then.
Leaving my room pulling my suitcase behind me I passed soldiers and fellow pack members to which they all bowed their heads in respect to me. A small smile tugged at my lips at the display and I felt quite proud of myself.
Somehow I was able to do the impossible and unite the rouges and create a whole new pack from the ground up without having to force or ostracize a single individual. And as hard as it was to be alpha a true leader I loved it.
“Alpha Andria.” Jeremiah said with a giant smile on his face. “aren’t you a bit too happy to be leaving the pack.” Jeremiah took my luggage from me without me having to ask “Usually but knowing I get to attend an alpha party with the best alpha in the world makes up for it.”
Leaving the pack house out on the road waiting for us was the limo “Well I hope you don’t think this is a vacation because there will be work that is to be done.” Jeremiah's smile drops shortly and a more forced one comes back up “Really that’s great.” Jeremiah spoke forcing the words out of his mouth and making me laugh
I had a feeling I was going to enjoy this trip.
