Chapter Seven ‘It’s getting late.’ Eden stood at the doorway, watching the rain attack the earth. The temperature had dropped significantly, making the air so frigid it nearly hurt her exposed skin. She heard Adam’s footsteps on the rough boards behind her. The drying earth smell of his leather jacket mingled with his spicy, masculine scent. She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply, savouring his rich aroma. She waited until her body’s quick response – that little jump her heart made, the sudden dryness in her mouth, the need to physically reach out to him, the all-encompassing desire to feel his lips touch hers – had cleared before she opened her eyes once more.
