Oliver's attitude towards Faye Rain turned notably indifferent. Sensing the change, Faye and Lily Cunningham, under the misconception that Oliver was a hidden wealthy man, didn't get upset about his demeanor. Instead, they approached him willingly.
"Hey, Oliver, were you just having a meal at this restaurant?" Lily casually inquired.
Oliver frowned slightly. He recognized that Lily wasn't any better than Faye; she had her share of blame for poisoning him and causing his death.
"Yes," Oliver replied coldly, hands in his pockets, turning to head towards the supermarket.
Faye and Lily quickly followed suit. "Oliver, where are you headed?" Faye asked with a gentle smile.
"To the supermarket," Oliver responded with the same cold tone, tinged with impatience.
If it weren't for his desire to make Faye experience the despair of the apocalypse, Oliver would have had no qualms about ending her then and there.
Faye signaled to Lily and chimed, "Oh, that's a coincidence! We were planning to buy some things too. Perfect timing!"
Oliver had figured it out by now. They must have seen him enjoying a lavish meal at the Michelin three-star restaurant, leading them to believe he was a hidden wealthy man, hence the sudden enthusiasm.
Uninterested in further explanations, Oliver walked directly towards the supermarket, but the more he disregarded them, the more convinced Faye and Lily became that he was indeed a wealthy man.
Why else would he act so arrogantly?
The two women trailed beside Oliver, with Faye intentionally brushing against him occasionally, wearing a shy expression when caught in his gaze.
Oliver couldn't help but smirk at the act, thinking, "Green tea vixen, you're quite the actress. If you tried your hand at movies, you'd likely win an Oscar for Best Actress."
Entering the supermarket, Oliver grabbed a shopping cart and proceeded to fill it with various goods. Faye and Lily, puzzled by his extensive shopping, couldn't help but voice their curiosity.
"Oliver, why are you buying so much food? Are you planning a camping trip or something?" Faye asked.
"Yes," Oliver responded, maintaining his cold demeanor.
Lily, sensing something was off, jokingly said, "Oliver, your monthly salary is just a bit over ten thousand, right? This meal alone is worth half a year's pay for you. Looks like your family gives you quite a bit of money."
Faye shot a glare at Lily, realizing the inappropriateness of the question. Lily quickly tried to cover up, saying, "Haha, I'm just kidding. We're good friends, so money doesn't matter."
Oliver paid them no mind, navigating through the supermarket and filling his cart with an assortment of goods, including instant noodles, sausages, self-heating hot pots, and various condiments. Faye and Lily were left dumbfounded by his purchases.
"Oliver, why are you buying so much food? How many people are you feeding? Is there some event you didn't tell me about?" Faye inquired, her eyes full of implication.
Oliver chuckled inwardly, responding, "The apocalypse is imminent. I'm just stocking up for survival."
Unconvinced, Faye laughed it off, "Oh, you and your jokes. Just remember to treat me to a meal later for helping you out today."
Lily, eager to join in, added, "Yeah, we're all good friends here. Haha!"
Oliver proceeded to check out, his purchases exceeding ten thousand. The supermarket gladly lent him several carts due to the substantial purchase. Oliver didn't hesitate to take advantage of the free labor offered by Faye and Lily, instructing them to push the carts back to his place.
Despite their complaints about the weight, Oliver's promise of a meal made them enthusiastic about the task.
The trio, pushing three loaded carts filled with supplies, attracted curious glances from onlookers as they made their way back to the residential area.
