Yuri’s POV

Days passed by. I kept myself busy. Trying my best not to think of what happened. Not to think of Taehyung and how he has ghosted me. The upcoming school activity has helped me to divert my attention to something else…to something more productive than lying in bed, crying and being helpless. Im part of the overall committee that ensures everything will be perfect till the day of the activity. So almost everyday we’re doing rounds on the venue, checks the decorations and also evaluating rehearsals of every performers. It really can’t be helped. Once in a while, I still have to force myself to interact with BTS specially with Taehyung. It’s good that I’m a bit close with Jin and Jungkook. They are the ones I talked to and tell my comments or suggestions about their performance. Aside from this, everything is fine.

One week before the school event, everybody is busy doing their part. Final touches on the decoration and final review of every performances. BTS is the next group to perform but the chairman decided to have a 10 minute break. I get my tumbler and went to the drinking fountain at the corner. As I was passing, Jisoo blocked me and gave me a big hug. We talked a little and she went to Black Pink’s place after. 

I heard someone shouting my name but I don’t know who and why.  When I turn, I froze. Someone is falling with the steel ladder and iIt'sfalling directly on where I stand. I panicked and got sucked on my place. I closed my eyes and cover my head waiting for the collision. Then I felt someone hugged me, placed a hand on my head and rolled us away from the falling ladder. A few moments later, I opened my eyes, his face was so close to mine. He’s staring at me with worried eyes almost crying actually, suddenly rest his forehead on my forehead, took a deep breath then stood up. He offered his hand and pulled me up. After checking up on me, he hurriedly walked away towards Jennie. 

Taehyung’s POV

I heard someone screamed Yuri’s name. I looked at the direction where the scream came from and to my surprise, I saw a ladder falling directly to Yuri! Without any second thought, I stood up and run towards Yuri. As she closed her eyes, I hugged her, cover her head and push us away from the falling ladder. I was so scared on what might have happened to her. My heart is frantically racing when we reached the safe place. Her eyes are still closed. I stared at her wishing to stop the time so that we can stay like this. I felt the tears build up in my eyes. I missed this. I missed staring at her. I missed being this close to her. (“Taehyung, you need to stop or you’ll lose yourself.) Trying to resist the urge of kissing her, I put my forehead on hers just like what I always do before. Took a deep breath before standing and pulling her up. Checked if anything hurts then walked away from her.

Jennie got hurt in the incident. She saw Taehyung running towards Yuri and tried to follow him. When Taehyung rolled with Yuri, Jennie got hit by the steel ladder causing her to sprain her ankles. She cannot perform for the school activity. As a result, Jisoo is forcing Yuri to fill in for Jennie. Feeling a bit guilty, she agreed with Jisoo and practiced Black Pink’s dance routine. 

Taehyung got distracted. He still can’t forget what happened last week. After months of not talking with Yuri, he had the chance to get close to her again, even for a brief minute. He’s happy but lonely at the same time. Memories with Yuri came flashing back on his mind. As well as the hurt and pain of avoiding her, the pain of taking her for granted and the pain of breaking all of my promises to her. 

Lisa: Nice Yuri! You’ve memorized the routine in less than a week! That’s really impressive!

Rose: Yes! As a matter of fact, I think you’re greater than Jennie! Hahahaha!

Jisoo: Told you guys, My friend here is  very talented gal!

Yuri: Thanks guys, really appreciate it. But still, IIt'sdifferent if Jennie would be performing with you…

Lisa: Well yeah, you have a point. But still it’s nice to be dancing with you. 

Rose: Cant wait till all the students in our school saw you perform. I bet they’ll be shocked too. 

Jisoo: Lets go to the mall after class and buy clothes for our performance. 

TIME SKIP - SCHOOL ACTIVITY

Yuri’s POV

My palms suddenly gets sweaty. Im so nervous. This will be my first time performing in front of a lot of people. What did  I get myself into? Hope our performance go well.

Here’s the order of performances.

BTS - Opening performance Twice Momoland GOT7 IU EXO Black Pink BTS - Closing performance

Watching Taehyung perform together with his group is really something. They are really something. They are made to perform. They are made to make every people smile. I can see that Taehyung is enjoying himself. He enjoys this. Then I realised, maybe what happened between us is just right. That maybe choosing his future is the best option for him. Maybe he’ll be regretting his decision today if he had chosen me. Maybe he will not be as happy as he is right now. Maybe iIt'sbetter off this way. I felt like  a heavy stone has been lifted from me. I felt relieved somehow. Now I understand, really understand him. 

Black Pink’s turn to perform. Taehyung and BTS is at the waiting area together with the other performers.

Tzuyu: Is that Yuri?!!?? Hahahaha!! Why is she there? Are they crazy? Why did they have to choose Yuri as Jennie’s replacement? What a pity. Im sure Jennie is very pissed off right now.

Jackson: Well, she looks kinda hot though. I’ve never seen her like that. Surprising.

Minho: Yeah, look at her, I can tell she’s nervous but still so cute…

Mina: Eeeew. She’ll just make a fool out of herself. 

IU: Or maybe she’ll be more popular than you after this performance

Sana: (laugh out loud to herself). They really don’t know the true Yuri. Just watch and learn, bitches! Go IU!

IU: You know, she happens to be my room mate. I can assure you guys that she is really talented and really clever. Tzuyu, you should ask her to tutor you, you know. So that you could pass your subjects and save your parents money.

Tzuyu: Shut up! IU. I won’t talk to you anymore
