Dilemma

-Taehyung’s POV

Something’s not right this morning. The guys are all quiet. No one is talking while we’re having our breakfast. Jungkook looked away and continue eating his cereal. Jin is just playing with his food. Hoseok is sighing every now and then. Things are a bit off today. And I had a feeling that this is because of me. I looked at Namjoon. We stared at each other for seconds until he took a deep breath then speak out loud.

Namjoon: Taehyung, I think we need to talk. 

-Taehyung’s POV

I got scared. My heart beats double time. What do we need to talk about? Is it Yuri? Please don’t make me leave her. 

Namjoon: Yoongi saw you yesterday leave after school. He called you but you’re in a hurry so he just followed you. And then he saw you talking to a girl.

Yoongi: Yeah, that’s right. I saw you talk to your classmate. You seemed happy. I thought you were just friends but suddenly you held her hand and kissed it. And then you hugged her and kissed her forehead as well. So I assumed that she is your girlfriend. You know the rules, Taehyung, right?

Taehyung: (all I can do was let out a sigh and nod). 

Namjoon: You know the rules but you still break them…

Taehyung: (I looked up) I really didn’t expect that I would fall for her. She’s just a random girl at first but everything has changed after I started getting to know her.

Jin: Guys, maybe he’s just infatuated. Maybe it will pass one of these days. So let him be right now.

Hoseok: I agree with Jin. Let him have this one. I can tell that he has changed… a lot.

Jimin: Besides, he’s been practicing really hard nowadays. And he’s putting more effort than the usual. He has improved a lot.

Namjoon: Still. Rules are rules. As a member of BTS, we have to follow them. You can have a girlfriend, but she should be popular like us. 

Yoongi: Yeah. You can have a girlfriend from Twice or Black Pink. There’s Tzuyu, Mina, Jennie or Lisa. They are pretty and hot and popular too.

Jungkook: But Hyung doesn’t like them. He only likes Yuri. So why force him to like someone that he doesn’t really like?!?

Namjoon: You’re still young Jungkook. You will not understand yet. Stay out of this.

Jungkook: What?! I think this has nothing to do with age. Its like the Pythagorean theorem: c2=a2+b2 : Love = Taehyung + Yuri. Simple.

Jin almost swallowed his saliva upon hearing what Jungkook has said. The others are trying really hard not to laugh. But not Namjoon and Yoongi. Namjoon became more irritated and suddenly raised his voice.

Namjoon: This is not about just love. This is about our future. Our dreams. Our lives. One mistake. Just one mistake and we might lose it all. So we better take precautions, guys. 

Yoongi: We worked hard for this. For what we have right now. We are still working hard for this. So we cannot stop just because we fell in love. Don’t you think we did not experienced what you’re experiencing right now? Jin, Namjoon, Hoseok and even me. We all experienced loving someone. But we have to make a choice. We have to let go. For the group. For us. 

Namjoon: I know it will be hard, Taehyung. But think about it - really hard. Not just Taehyung. We need to think about this. I’m not saying this just because Im your leader. All I want is for us to be able to reach our dreams. I don’t have anything against Yuri. But I will do everything just to protect this group. You guys are brothers to me.

Yoongi: Honestly, I want you to be happy Taehyung. But I also want you to be responsible. You know you need this. Especially right now, right? 

-Taehyung’s POV

I wanted to shout! I wanted to scream! I wanted to turn the table down! I wanted to cry… cry as loud as I can until all of the hurt fade away… but at this moment all I could do was nod. 

One by one they stepped outside the kitchen. Jin, Jimin and Jungkook stayed for a while trying to comfort me. I burst into tears the moment Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok left the room.

Jungkook patted my head while Jimin held my hand. 

Jin: This is hard. I know you’re going through a hard time right now. You know, been there, done that. But seriously, they also have a point. You know you want this, Tae. So start weighing things. Which is more important to you?

Jimin: I think so too, Taehyung. Ask your self: Is Yuri worth it? Will she be there when everything else fails? Will she be there when everyone else leaves?

Jungkook: I just wanted you to be happy. So just know that Im here for you hyung.

With that, they all left the room, leaving me helplessly  crying. What should I do? Who should I pick?

I went upstairs and locked myself in my room. I decided to not go to school and think about the situation Im in right now. This is the second saddest part of my life. In my mind, I know what’s the right thing to do. But my heart disagrees. “I love you, Yuri and I don’t want to lose you”.

-Yuri’s POV

Hmmmm… no little gift for today and  Taehyung is not yet around. Maybe he’s just late. 

It's almost 5PM, but still no Taehyung appeared. You got worried. You texted him and tried to call him several times but he did not reply nor answer your call. You approached Jungkook secretly but he just shrugged. You felt something is wrong. You needed to see Tae. You needed to talk to him.

-ONE WEEK HAS PASSED…

-Yuri’s POV

I came early to class. Still no sign from Taehyung. I think he’s going through something right now. I sat on my desk and looked outside.
