"Why are you acting like this?"

Even I don't know why I was shocked or why I was hit by the word, I don't have a problem so why am I behaving like a brat.

"Em, sorry, I just um, I was just not happy that you didn't come to the field to see me like we used to", I managed to say.

"That's it", he asked like he wanted to hear something else.

"Yes, what else, I know my behavior was uncalled for and I was fuming for no good reason, am sorry"

"It's okay", he said patting my cheek. "And I am sorry I didn't come but that was because Robert was...."

"That jerk, what did he do now", I interrupted.

"He was harassing Jess and that's why I had to, you know"

"Hit him, are you okay, are you hurt in anyway", i said inspecting his body.

"Chill bell, am fine"

"I know how you can get when you are angry so don't give me any chill pill and that Robert, he has tried that s**t with me"

"With you, hell no, when, I swear am gonna kick his fucken ass", he snapped. I was sure that if he saw Robert right there, he would have killed him and it's no joke, Jose have a really bad temper that can be so intimidating sometimes but for me, I know just how to handle him.

"I know you would react like this and that's why I never told you, just calm down, it doesn't matter anymore, I didn't let it go either, I taught him a lesson"

"I just hate that guy, do you know what he was doing to her, the sight of him disgust me. I already reported him to Mr Chris (principal) but he didn't take it seriously, who knows how many more girls he does that s**t to, asshole.

"Just calm down". The bell rang, "have got a project to defend and you kept Jess waiting"

"You, kept Jess waiting cause you were the one that...."

"Will just shut up, must you always like respond to every thing, am going"

"Won't you give me a hug". We hugged and I quickly ran to my block.

We finished school, Jose would normally come to see me at my block before I am even done but he didn't. The thought that it's because he might be with Jess struck my mind but I ignored it. I went over to Jose's block, i saw Candice, Joy and Daniel which only made me so excited, it's been a while we've seen and we are in the same school. It's not like we don't see but it's rarely and it's not like we are not close or something but it's because most times, Jose would come to meet me at my block, Diamond block and from there we will go home and I get tired because of school and maybe I need to get home early for an assignment or project or my parents want to send me on an errand.

"Oh my gosh", I said euphorically upon seeing them from afar.

"Bella", Candice exclaimed.

"Have missed you guys so much", I said as I hugged all of them. Just so you know their behavior, Candice and joy are very hilarious, beautiful and silly while Daniel is cute, gentle and docile, he's pretty close to Jose and unlike Jose he's not flirtatious but open. I don't know whose more handsome but I can say that Daniel is attractive but I ain't attracted or let me put it this way, Jose is handsome, Daniel is attractive.

"We've missed you too, but you don't visit our block", Daniel uttered.

"Yes, that's true", joy joined.

"You guys, it's not like that, you know how work loaded our block has become, you guys are very lucky or haven't you heard students complaining"

"That's true though", Candice admitted.

"I feel for you guys oh", joy added.

"Good excuse Mrs ponytail", Daniel uttered. I can't believe he's still calling me that even though he's right, I mostly styled my hair in ponytail and I loved it.

"Stop calling me that"

"Isn't it true"

"Whatever Daniel, its been a long time since we all hangout together so let's go to Tina's cafe" I said

"Good idea and we can all go in Daniel's car", Candice said

"Daniel's car?", I asked surprised

"Yes, he just bought a car", joy added

"Whoa, I better start calling you Richie rich"

"Will you guys just chill, I was gifted the car and it's not even here"

"You didn't bring it after all the begging that you should bring it", Candice said ready to pounce on Daniel.

"Dude, I brought it, it's at Tina's cafe". He said quickly, trying to save himself from Candice instant aggression. "you need to relax sometimes".

"You just want me to spare you after all the excessive pleading", she said

Mr Charles passed by and we all greeted him, he called Candice and Joy aside for some reason. It seemed like he was advising them or something.

"So, since when did you start driving and how's your experience"

"It was cool you know and I like it"

"Having a car"

"Yeah and you"

"What"

"When do you envision having a car"

"I dunno, one thing about me is that I get scared easily"

"Really, nobody actually taught me how to drive, I just observed tried and did it"

"Everybody is different, some might not be able to learn like that"

"I can teach you", he said 

"Jose tried teaching me with my dad's car but he just got tired and told me I had to let go of the anxiety and fear"

"I won't only teach you how to drive a car but also how to drive away that fear and anxiety"

"That's so cute, you are really good at that"

"Thanks"

"Do you know where Jose is"

"Jose, I last saw him with Jess at the library, they are dating"

I knew he expected me to be surprised and am glad that did not happen, how would I have behaved if I heard it from someone else first.

"I know", I said bluntly

"Are you happy with it"

"Which kind of question is that Dan, does it look like am sad and why would you think that I am unhappy". He kept mute for a while which was awkward.

Throughout the remaining conversation I had with Dan, I kept on thinking about Jose. I suddenly saw him and Jess coming through the corridor, she was leaning on his arm as she wrapped her hand round his right hand. I focused on Dan quickly till they got to us.

"Bro", he said greeting Dan. He greeted Dan for like minutes before he even paid attention to me and I was like is he blind or something, couldn't he see me.

"Hey Bella", Jess greeted

"Hi", I responded. "At least someone is thoughtful enough to greet", I said putting up a fake smile at him.

"Hey Bella", he said

Is that all he would do or say, it didn't even seem like he cared, this was getting me irritated already.

"I was looking for you", i said

"Oh, I went to greet some of Jess's friends, that's why"

"Oh, cool". Cool my foot, I didn't care. Candice and Joy both came back.

"Jose, you here", Candice shouted like she saw a celebrity.

"Why are you shouting like that Candice, you can be so dramatic", Joy uttered.

"He's gonna be feeling himself, nonsense", I said. He only gave me a look I didn't understand, l knew I was abusing for no reason but am mad at him.

"You guys should leave Jose alone", Jess uttered and I was like, what's wrong with her, the situation was becoming stupid.

"Can we go to the cafe now, am hungry, I didn't eat during break", I said.

"We should trek since it's been long we've hangout, it's not far and we won't feel it cause we'll be talking anyways, so what do you guys think", Daniel suggested.

"Fine by me", I said

"Um, we can just take my car", Jess said arrogantly. In case I didn't mention, Jess is a spoilt brat even though she tends to hide it around Jose, she's beautiful but very proud. I wonder how she manages to hide it around Jose and I suspected that she liked Jose. There was a time she came to me like a cutie, she was behaving nicer than usual and when she got to the point, she asked what Jose hate most in a girl and I told her that he hated girls that are too materialistic, girls that brag and are proud. I knew she would pretend but the fun will begin when she can't hide it any longer.

I bluntly refused telling them I liked Dan's idea,"and 20 minutes walk won't kill anybody", I added

"I agree with Dan and Bella", Jose said which made me smile.

"But, am tired and I can't walk for even 5 minutes", she said insisting

"Fine then, you can come with your car, we will walk, you can meet us there", Jose uttered which made me chuckle. I knew Jose too well to have agreed, not that he can't follow her but he expected her to be considerate

"What do you mean, I will have to follow you then, geez. Let me quickly tell Angel to meet us at the cafe with the car.

We all walked to the cafe, Jose and Jess were just chatting and cuddling on the way. I didn't like the fact that I can't talk to Jose like before, I miss him but whatever.

We finally got there, we sat at a table of five, sir John came to us. Most students from Royalty high school knew him including us, sometimes he would supply us food when there was a problem with our cooking unit. I remember a time when there was rumour that rats are in the unit and they feed on cooked meals, every one was scared to the extent that parents came and you know how students can be, say this in Gold block and be sure to hear it in Diamond block.

"You guys are here today, it's been long we last saw you except for Jose and Bella, I think I saw them last week and do you remember the old lady", sir John said

"That kept staring at us", Jose said

"That lady is quite creepy and scary", I added

"Yes, she thought you guys are dating"

"Dating, we are not dating", I interjected quickly.

"He said thought, Bella", Candice said

I just kept quiet.

"Am his girlfriend now, sir John", Jess said which didn't seem to please sir John

"You are his girlfriend, I hope things work out"

"What do you mean sir John, things will definitely work out, can we place our order and can't you see in the name, Jose and Jess".

"It's not by how your name match or status or even what you have, it is all about the heart, the heart never deceive we can only deceive ourselves. We try to paint the picture how we want it and not how we know it should be". I raised my eyes up only to the sight of Jose looking at me, I quickly averted my eyes. I wanted to ask him why he was looking at me but I just let it go.

"Can I place my order", Jess said abruptly

"Dude, he was saying something meaningful", joy retorted

"I was just......"

"It's fine, so what do you guys want"

Dan, Candice, joy and Jess ordered what they want. When it came to Jose and i, we ordered for the same thing then Jess also said "I will eat what my boyfriend ordered too", it annoyed like why would you change what you ordered, it clearly showed her insecurities. When sir John came with the order, he told us it was only two plates of of fries and chicken nuggets that's left. Jess didn't waste time in collecting the two for her and Jose but Jose offered me his which I bluntly refused. That was honestly what I craved for, we both went back and forth on me taking it, when Candice ended the matter by telling us to share and with sterility, we looked at each other, I didn't know what he was thinking, but I knew what I was thinking, I wondered how Jess will react to this one. And as suspected,she quickly disagreed that I can take his while she and Jose would share hers. That was justified cause I too won't want my boyfriend sharing food with another girl in my presence.

Minutes went by, I, Dan, Candice and joy were chatting as we ate. Jose and Jess were also discussing with us but partly, who knows what they kept mumbling to each other about, it was getting me agitated and uncomfortable. I don't know why he had to have a girlfriend now, he is not talking to me like before, who know how long am gonna put up with this when they just started dating today. To be sincere I don't even wish to have a boyfriend, at least not now, I love having Jose around. I felt suffocated watching them, I banged the table which attracted every possible eyes on me.

"Bella, are you okay", Jose asked as each of them joined in asking what's wrong.

"Am tired, I wanna go home", I said taking my bag and walking out. "Wait Bella, what of the car you....", Dan yelled but I kept on walking. I didn't respond, I told myself that if Jose didn't stop me or do something then we should just dissolve the friendship so that I won't feel or behave the way I do when he's around his girlfriend.
