In Love With My Best Friend

We both sat under the sweltering sun, silence dominating for while. "Jose, why are you silent, you were the one that asked me to come here", I said trying to break the annoying quietness. "I know and I could ask you the same thing". He said. "What, you really acting weird you know, since yesterday to be precise and since when you spoke to that moron that like to throw herself around you", I said now fuming. "Moron?, Don't call Jessica a moron Bella, what's your problem", he said defensively. "Jose, I know you too well and I saw both of you talking together in school yesterday, what did she say to you", I said more calmly, holding his hands. "She said she liked me and wants us to like date", he blotted out looking at me with some kind of concern. I removed my hand immediately. "Is that the reason you've been all moody since yesterday", I asked, still not getting it. "Of course not, it's because of you". "Me", I asked confused, "if you wanna date jess, you can date her, I don't have no problem with both of you dating. I just don't like her naturally". I said, now laughing and smiling. "You don't have feelings for me", he said more seriously and looking intensely into my eyes.  I laughed a while cause I know Jose could be stupid sometimes and I wonder why he would even think that I like him. "Jose, we've been best friends since like five and I have feelings for you but not that kind of feelings, hell no, you're my friend, that will be hella awkward. But wait, do you like me Jose", he stayed quiet, "Joseph, am asking you something". "No, like I was just asking cause I don't want anybody's feeling getting hurt. But you remember when I was dating Brie and all you do is complain about her and how she isn't the perfect match...". "Was I wrong though", I interrupted. Of course you were, she was so sweet and it's because she got tired of your behavior and the way you always make her feel uncomfortable that she left me, though she didn't tell me directly". "Wait what, what did I do, I did nothing bro, we just didn't get along". "You will never get along with any girl I date, will you". "Oh don't be sarcastic Jose, I wanna go inside, let's go", i said drawing him up..... I fell on him and he caught my waist. "You're beautiful", he said looking intensely into my eyes. "You're such a flirt, like this is the first time you are seeing me, "am beautiful", I said sarcastically "just let me go". "No", he said determined, he began caressing my cheeks. "Jose, if you don't leave me right....", I couldn't talk anymore, I loved it, it felt like he should never stop, he fingered his hands through my hair slowly going down to my neck. I fell flat on his chest, our face so close that I could hear and feel his breath, it felt like he was going to kiss me! and all I could say was "Jose, what are you doing". I wanted to resist but at the same time it was so appealing that I know I want to give in, he rarely did this except once in a while where he would tease me but kiss me!. I closed my eyes knowing that am about to get kissed and suddenly, my mouth kissed something hard and concrete, "why is his lip so hard, ew" I wondered as I opened my eyes and realized he had rolled me over to the ground. "I won't spare you, you flirtatious fool", I said as i ran after him, he was teasing me as usual, we both raced inside the house, he slipped on the couch and I quickly jumped on him laughing and trying to beat him. Bella stop, Bella...", He muttered. "I won't stop nothing and if you don't stop doing that s**t to me, I will just have a boyfriend" "Boyfriend you say" "What, do you think i can't have a boyfriend" "You, Bella Thompson, I doubt that" "You'll see", I said as I smacked him slightly. My mum came in as we got down from the couch, she was holding something in a bowl that looked like the combination of whipped cream cheese and flamin' hot cheeto, "who does that", I thought. My mum could be so weird sometimes that I wonder where my dad found her. "Am sure you guys weren't here before, right" "Yes", we both chorused. "We went outside for a while, it was kinda cold inside", I said. "Are you gonna go early", she said addressing Jose "No", he replied, "we spending more time together", I continued. "Okay, anyways have got something for you boy, this" she said as she flew her hand over the food like someone showcasing a new dish. "Do you wanna taste", she asked, she didn't bother to ask me cause she knew my answer would be a plain and quick no to her gross food combo, not that she's not a great cook but she can be very extra. Jose was her tool, she would ask him so sweetly that the fool had to agree. It was such a coincidence that she does this meals when he visits, "such a coincidence". He tasted the dish and of course gave a good remark, "hmm, Mrs T, it's kind of good". "Really, I knew it, thanks so much son, I will prepare it for dinner". "Mum!, no you wouldn't" "Yes I would, Joseph, would you join us for dinner".  "I don't know cause my....." "Oh, I understand, am gonna invite them so we can all eat and it's been a long time I've seen your parents". "Mum don't tell me you gonna prepare this for them to eat" "Relax, food spoiler, am preparing something else" "Phew", I sighed "But am still gonna see their opinion about this one. I just kept mute. "Am going to see your dad in the garage" "He's still doing his car" "Yup, bye". *Your mum sometimes", Jose said smiling. "Whatever, I want us to do Mr Wood's assignment together, did you bring the book" "The book, gosh" " Don't tell me you didn't bring it Jose" "I didn't, am so sorry and I remembered but we can use 101 applied maths right" "We can manage that but let's see" I said as we both went to my room. *********** Later that evening, Jose's family came, we all ate and talked. I loved being around Jose's parents cause they are very friendly and nice, I remember that I do say in my mind that who ever that gets Jose's parents as an in-law is lucky. It was through this foursome that Jose and I met, I and my parents were going out to a friend's party while Jose's were also going out but my dad's car hit Mr Anderson's and they were fighting but while they were fighting, I saw Jose, he was so cute, we had an instant connection that we both got down from the car and started talking and playing, I was just 5 and I think he was 7. To cut the long story short, they had to make up because we troubled them about seeing each other and even going to the same school. ********************** The next day, I went to school, we are both going to Royalty high school, three subjects passed by before we had break. I didn't see Jose at all, it's not like we see every second of the day and this is because our departments are totally different except for two subjects that we both offer and that's on Fridays. Usually, we would meet at the school's field first thing in the morning but he didn't show up. I was looking for him when I bumped into Mia. "Hey Bella", she greeted "Mia!", we hugged, we were good friends too. "I'm looking for Jose" "Is it Joseph" "Yeah, Joseph" "I think he's in the...., Before I tell you, I want to tell you something". "Miaaaa, okay what". "Jade asked me out" "Are you serious, did you accept". "I would be mad if I didn't and we going on a date this weekend" "Am so excited for you, so where's Jose" "At the cafe with....." "Thanks Mia, bye and don't worry, we will catch up later", I said quickly. I rushed to the cafe, but I checked and didn't see him earlier. I was happy he's at the cafe cause I was also hungry, so we could eat and talk. When I got there, he was with Jess and he was behaving so sweet to her, I could see from Jessica body movements that she was  blushing about something he's saying and why won't she after all, she's talking to Jose Anderson, " is it because of her he didn't come to the field or is it something else", I thought. I went over to their table hurriedly, I tried not to be rude. "Jose", I said giving the message with my eyes. "Hey Bella", she greeted "Hi Jess, how you doing" "Fine, Jose and I just came back from the field and we both.....". Jose tried shutting her up for some reason. "The field you didn't come to at 7:am", I muttered. That was the time we met. "Is something wrong", he said. That statement infuriated me, "can I see you for a minute, please excuse us", I said as I dragged him over to a corner. " I didn't see you all day and you're not bothered, you didn't come to the field, unlike you and now, Jess" "Don't you wanna see me with any girl" "No, that's not it dummy, my point is, you didn't come to the field to see me but you could take Jess and you don't even seem to care, why" "I was spending time with Jess" "You were spending time with Jess", I said squeezing my face,"who cares so that's why you didn't see me today" "You said you didn't care and why...". "Am not joking right now Joseph". "Jess is my girlfriend" "GIRLFRIEND!".
