Chapter 15

Emilys POV

The rest of the night went pretty decent. Sadie asked a bunch of ridiculous questions, but Phoenix handled it all very well without revealing too much to her. She isn't ready for all of the supernatural craziness, I don't want to scare her, the way I felt when I found out.

After Sadie left to go home, Phoenix convinced me that I should come back with him, to his local apartment to stay the night. "No funny business tonight Phoenix, I have to get up early for work!" I scolded him "Okay, Okay you feisty little dove." He lets out a

sexy husky laugh. "I have a surprise for you" Ugh more surprises.

We hop in his car and drive a short way to his apartment building. This is the most beautiful building I have ever seen. I have driven by this place so many times, not realizing people live here, but I admire it every time I see it. He bypasses the valet section and parks the car in the parking garage.

Walking into the luxurious building we are greeted by a bellman. "Mr. Sterling, wonderful to see you again!" He glances over to me. "Alex, this is my girl, Emily Grey. Please arrange security on my floor, for the evening." "What a pleasure, Ms. Grey. Wonderful to meet you, and will do sir! Right this way." We follow him to the elevators and proceed to get in, as he hits the penthouse suite button, the doors close.

Reaching the top of the building the doors open to the most beautiful floor reserved for the penthouse suite. A hallway that leads to one door, his apartment. "Have a wonderful night" Alex nods and closes the elevator doors, leaving us. "Phoenix.. this is Not an apartment. this is the whole top floor?!" I'm freaking out a little inside.

"Yes... well... I wanted somewhere comfortable to stay while I am here locally working at the company. Please, come in, I'll show you around" he gives a little smile and takes my hand walking me inside this mini mansion.

We reside to the living room after a while, relaxing on the sectional sofa, that his mom hand picked for his apartment, watching the electric fireplace do its thing. "This place certainly is a beautiful surprise Phoenix" I say looking up at his face while cuddled in his embrace. "Oh little dove, this is not the surprise. That will come in the morning before work." he squeezes my shoulders gently. "Oh... " I sit up to get a better look at him. "You know... I don't need all of these surprises, I think I have had enough surprises to last me a lifetime at this moment." I look at him with a serious look.

"Emily" Ugh my name coming out of his mouth is like heaven to the ears. "One last surprise... for now, I promise!" He gives a sly grin.

He gets up to shut of the fireplace, "Come, it's late.. lets go to bed, so you can have a good night sleep before work in the morning." I get up and hold his hand as we go to his extravagant bedroom, climb under the duvet, and curl up into his embrace, breathing in his incredible cedar wood scent. I fall sleep in a matter of seconds.

Phoenix's POV

Yesterday was a whirl wind for my little dove. So many emotions, so many changes, I wish we could just stop everything and just stay here in this bed. It's 6:30 AM, I know her alarm will be going off in about 30 minutes. She fell asleep so quickly last night, I'm sure her body was exhausted, but I can't wait to give her my little surprise today.

I need to get back to work, with my deadline of visiting my packs is coming up in 2 weeks. I need her to be able to drive around freely without taking the bus and putting herself in any danger. I don't trust anyone around her.

Slipping out of the bed, I put on some sweatpants and head to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast and coffee.

"Good Morning," I see her walking into the kitchen with her sleepy face and hair a mess as she sits down on a stool at the kitchen counter. She looks beautiful. "Good Morning my love, would you like some coffee and breakfast?" I slide a plate of eggs and toast to her and place the coffee mug to her. "You didn't have to do this, you know!" She smiles the sweetest smile. "But thank you, I really do appreciate it!" "You're very welcome, and I know I didn't Have to do it. I Wanted to."

After finishing breakfast she goes back to the bathroom in the bedroom and fetches her bag that she packed from home to get cleaned up for work, as I make a few work related phone calls and get myself ready afterwards in the second bathroom.

"Phoenix, I need you to go to the office this morning. I met with Mr. Sampson yesterday and he said he would like to finalize everything before signing the final contract", my father says over the call. "Yes Dad, I will be in the office at 8 this morning. I believe Alison has a few meetings lined up". "Ah, Alison, how is that beauty doing? Tell her we miss her and would like to set up a family dinner soon." ugh, what is it with her parents and mine. They have always been so connected. "Will do, see you later tonight."

Emily walks out, looking her normal beautiful self with her hair pulled back into a high pony tail, blue jean shorts, too short for my comfort, and a green tank top making her eyes look a shade brighter.

"Are you ready to go love?" I say reaching out and gently grabbing her by the waist to give her a sweet kiss. "mmm, yes Phoenix." We take the elevator down to the ground floor and into the parking garage. "Remember I said one more surprise, right?" I say as she looks at me with confused eyes and nods. "Okay... well here it is..."

Emilys POV

He dangles car keys in front of me and I look up at his face to see a big bright smile showing off those beautiful white teeth. "No.... no I can't take those Phoenix.. I can't". "Yes Emily, You can. I need you to have a reliable source of transportation when I can't be around. The bus will not do." He forces the keys in my hands and shows me to the car. It's a beautiful.. no.. Gorgeous pearl white Lincoln MKZ. "Phoenix... I..It's.. Beautiful.. but.." "No buts Emily. It is my gift to you, my little dove. It will be a safe way for you to get around and it will ease my mind knowing you will be okay." My heart feels warm, and thankful. Happiness washes over me and tears start to fall.

"s**t, I... I'm so sorry, Emily. What did I say wrong?" He grabs hold of me and pulls me into his arms as I sob. "No... You didn't do anything wrong, it's just, nobody has ever done anything like this for me.. other than my parents. Thank you Phoenix, I love it."

He gives me a kiss on top of my head and pulls away a bit, "You deserve it! Now go ahead and get in! I don't want you to be late for work, and I have to get to the office as well. I'll take my own car, as I have a few other things I need to do today." I stand up on my tippy toes as he leans down the rest of the way to embrace in one last kiss before getting in the car and driving off.
