Episode One
There's no way you can climb to that throne ahead of Duke, your senior brother without presenting a wife who will be the queen", Tene said robbing his left arm against the fluffy sofa chair that lay opposite a young man of about 23 years old resting hopelessly on a sofa. His eyes piercing the thin air. He wore a dark blue jacket and a leather made pair of trouser.
"" I have no feelings for women but that will not stop me from succeeding my father instead of Duke. Duke is far away, he is just busy bagging certificates and laurels for himself and forgetting the throne'. The young man replied with a tensed voice. Waves of weary wrinkles appeared on his forehead and quickly disappeared.
"And how do you plan to achieve this Russell?". Tene leaned forward towards the young man.His eyes searching vigorously into the young man's face.
" I think I have a plan, but you must assist me in achieving it", Russell said drawing close to Tene. His eyes bulged out like a mad dog, he stared hardly at the door and swift returned his gaze back to Tene.
"So..what is this plan all about?,Tene replied.
" I want to go into contract marriage with any lady who can do the job very well. I don't want any intimate relationship with any lady but purely contract love, so that I can secure my place at the throne before my brother comes back". Russell chipped in swiftly, his voice jerked from time to time, He stood up looking forth and back between the door and Tene's face. Tene collapsed back to the chair with a mocking smile on his face. "Contract marriage?, how do you think that would work?, have you forgotten that you are the prince of Tagaria kingdom?. Tene murmured. He pulled his left eyebrow up and dropped it abruptly.
" That is not the issue here, all I need you do for me now is to think of a lady who can do the job for me and leave the rest to me. Do you have any lady in mind?". Russell asked hastily. His eyes shone like bright embers. Tene stood up from his sofa and paced thoughtfully around the room. Silence filled the room for a while before Tene's voice broke out.
'Yeah, I have a lady in mind who can do this job for you, but…..' Tene's voice jerked and paused halfway. Russell winked his left cheek and stared hopefully at Tene.
"But what Tene?, Russell asked.
" But she does work in a protel and her name is Nancy. If you want her, then I will go fetch her for you here in the palace". Tene replied calmly.
"That won't be possible, instead take me to her place to speak to her secretly. I don't want anyone in this palace to know about thiis'. Russell frowned his face and stood up. He moved towards the door and held the door knob tight.
" And how is that possible too?. Have you forgotten that you are prince and shouldn't be seen among commoners not to talk of a prostitute like Nancy". Tene cut-in abruptly. His eyeballs widened with an air of disgust on his face. The moment Tene said that, Russell quickly turned towards Tene and gave him a weird stare.
"You mean she is a prostitute?'. Russell replied swiftly. He moved few steps towards Tene and cast a fierce gaze at him. Tene looked at him for a while and remained mute.
" And where does the prostitute live?. Russell asked curiously.
"Rego town, about four kilometers from here' Tene said sharply
" Then take me there now!". Russell ordered. His voice deep and loud. He creaked the door knob and walked hastily into the next room which looked like a bedroom and shot the door behind him. Tene stared at the shut door. He looked vaguely into the thin air and moved towards the door. He pushed the door a bit and realized that it was really locked. He tried to peep through the knob but stopped half way. Suddenly, the door slammed open with a loud noise. Tene immediately turned towards the door and frooze at the sight of Russell's strange appearance
"Russell?, what is this?, what …what..'. Tene stammered.
" Just shut up and take me there now!" Russell commanded Tene with a stern voice.
