Accelerating along in the darkness, small bits of rock ricocheted off the bare wheel-wells and tumbled out with the cloud of dust behind him. It wasn’t until he was back on a main road that the sporadic street lights cast a pale light on the mess in the right seat. There was blood all over the seat and floor.
