Just as Luna and Alexander began to settle into their new routine, a sudden and unexpected challenge emerged. One evening, Luna received an anonymous letter at the estate. The letter, written in a shaky hand, warned her of a new threat that could endanger everything they had worked for.
The message read:
"The curse was not truly broken. Beware the shadows that linger. They seek to reclaim what was lost."
Luna felt a chill run down her spine as she read the letter. She immediately brought it to Alexander, who read it with a growing sense of concern.
“This could be a prank,” Alexander said, though his voice held a trace of worry. “But we can’t ignore it.”
Luna nodded. “We need to investigate further. If there’s any truth to this, we must be prepared.”
They decided to consult the ancient texts and symbols once more, hoping to find any clues that might explain the letter. The texts spoke of remnants of the curse that could sometimes resurface, especially if the conditions of the ritual weren’t fully met.
Their research revealed that while the primary curse had been lifted, the lingering effects could still pose a threat if not properly addressed. The ritual had required specific conditions and sacrifices, and any deviation could leave vulnerabilities.
